Very clean and orderly overall. Prices could be a bit better, and what is with the dim lighting in the Produce section??

You can tell a lot about the maintenance of a business by looking at the rest room. Fixtures that you know have been broken for a long time are not a good sign. Inattention to detail shows. Otherwise the store is average for a market 32.

After a crazy week, I was finally able to get to Price chopper in Amsterdam, NY to get my groceries. I got there at about 8:45 pm not because I plan my shopping at that time but because that is the earliest my schedule allowed me to get there this week. At 9:50 I made it to the cash register with an over flowing cart to find that there was just one girl at the self service registers directing everyone. No registers open, just self serve. I had 4 bags with me, no bags on the self serve counter and a very small area on which to do all of these groceries, that I am positive would not have fit back into one cart. While I was shopping, there was a cleaner using a big machine to wash floors around customers, there was an employee walking up the isle yelling that he deserves more pay, but they can't put people on the register. I was not able to make it work so that I could get all of that back out of my cart, scanned, into bags and to my truck. Consequently, I left my cart, cried all the way home and NO GROCERIES, NO HOME CARE products. Probably saved 500$, but now I need to figure out when I can go and start all over. Businesses need to provide the service they are there to provide. If you can't get enough employees to cover the shifts, then the shifts might need to be changed so that the ones that you do have are adequately staffed to the quality I am sure you would hope to have.
