I hate leaving reviews like this but I was highly disappointed this time staying here. I stayed here in October of 2019 and the experience was totally different. This time my room had a funky musty smell to it; even after I opened the windows. The other thing was the carpet was not flat. It was loose causing it to bubble up. Someone could easily trip on it and hurt themselves. I wish they had a desk in the room so I could have worked a little. The parking lot is terrible. If you are late getting there in the afternoon it fills up and then you have to go park at the city parking lot. The only reason why I gave it two stars was because of the location of the hotel. It’s nice to be in town and be able to walk everywhere. When I go to Lake Placid in the near future I don’t think I’ll be staying here again.

Amazing location right in the middle of downtown. Very dog friendly hotel, be prepared to see dogs everytime you walk around the hotel. I love how the hotel is themed to the surrounding area. The staff told us that they're about to undergo a huge renovation in the fall which will definitely serve the hotel well. Parking lot was full for most of the day, but there's a giant parking lot a couple blocks away that has free parking overnight from 6pm-1pm. Room was tighter than we expected and it sounded like our neighbors were in the room with us. Beautiful views of Mirror Lake. You either have a lake/downtown view or trees with a balcony. We definitely plan on trying this hotel out again after covid especially since the two restaurants were closed.

Location is the best thing this hotel has going for it. That and my room had a beautiful view of Lake Placid and surrounding mountains. The hotel itself is shabby and the walls are paper thin. We could head full conversations as if our neighbors were in the room with us. We we’re actually woken up by it making sleep difficult. When you walk into the lobby it smells like tobacco. The elevators hardly work and are often out of order. On top of all that there is very little parking and you have to use the street (metered) or get lucky and squeeze into a very small lot that is hard to navigate. We canceled the rest of our reservation and booked the rest of our stay in ADK elsewhere. Really disappointing.

I was skeptical of this place after reading some reviews but was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. I will say, you will not find a better location in lake placid for the price. They are dog friendly which is very nice. They had a dog bed and food/water dish waiting in the room when we arrived which was a nice touch. The room was nice. It seemed like they were trying to update them. There are flat screen TVs, bathroom tile was updated as was some of the decor. The tape around the air conditioner was a bit sketchy. We had an awesome view of the lake. The beds are memory foam and extremely comfortable. The reason I took away a star is the parking situation is horrible and the WiFi is slow. There aren’t enough spots for all the guests and if you don’t time it right, you have to park in the municipal lot 200-300 yards down the street for $5. (FYI: no parking overnight on Sundays). The central location and comfort make this a good choice to stay in the area.
