Unfortunately, Thorn Flats sounds great and looks nice when one rents but the truth is that once a person has moved in all starts to go down hill. Garbage disposal is far away...one has to drive it or walk a long way to drop it in one central dumpster area, we had no heat for awhile after moving in, some lights would not go off being wired wrong, etc.... This could be overlooked, but when we needed to end our lease early, we were fine to pay the early penalty only to find a huge few thousand reno fee in addition on their part taken (no security deposit given back). The place was left beautifully with lots of pro cleaning. We do not see this in our primary lease and now have to take them to small claims court. So beware! ****As an addendum to the above, I changed my star rating to a cautiously optimistic 3 star. After contacting their head quarters, we were able to avoid small claims court. I worked with a really good, fair and calm person. She investigated and found out that their management at Thorn Flats had recently changed and in transition my file was not clear. A resolution was found. Thank you.

I’m super impressed with Thorn Flats! Everyone I have spoken to with Galman and Thorn have been so wonderful. We have appreciated how thoughtful the staff is. We were worried with the low stars, but it is important to note that this property previously had different owners. The only issue I have is that the amenities cost an additional (fairly high) price. Overall, we’ve had a great experience living here so far!
