I signed up for Healthy Paws when my aussiedoodle was 8 weeks old. She is almost 2 years old and has had several visits to the vet because of her sensitive stomach. I have never had an issue with Healthy Paws not reimbursing for her visits. They do NOT reimburse for exam visits, spay or neuter, or yearly shots but, with my plan, I get 80% back of what they do cover. This last visit to the vet she had was an overnight visit and they even followed up in a sweet email asking how my pup was doing. It’s super easy to file a claim. I just get an itemized statement from her vet, scan it to my computer, upload to Healthy Paws “File a Claim”, and submit. Usually, I see a reimbursement within 72 hours. Sometimes less. My monthly plan is only $23 with a $100 deductible. SO much cheaper than having to come up with hundreds/thousands of dollars in case of an emergency. Wonderful insurance company! I highly recommend them!

I am very impressed with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. Filing a claim was easy. They communicated well during the process and promptly reimbursed me for the covered expenses. So far, I have filed 4 claims and have had the same excellent response and quick turn around experience each time. Not only were they efficient but after a few days they even contacted me to check on how my pet was doing in his recovery. The personal touch was quit unexpected but very much appreciated. I highly recommend Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. Veterinary costs can quickly become a huge burden to someone on a fixed income. Budgeting the small monthly premium gives me peace of mind knowing my sweet little buddy will be taken care of without hesitation and can get the best medical care needed. Patsy Russell

We're so happy that we decided to get pet insurance with Healthy Paws. Our 3-year-old dog required major orthopedic surgery. Having pet insurance made a difficult decision easier. Healthy Paws is so user friendly - with the app all you need to do is take a picture of your paid bill. You quickly get confirmation (both via email and within the app) that it has been received and is being processed. Less than a week later we had received a check in the mail, reimbursing us the 80% that our policy covers. Thank you Healthy Paws! You have a customer for life!

We signed up for Healthy Paws insurance right after we rescued our puppy in October 2020. I did my research before deciding who to pick, and I am confident I made the right choice! Submitting claims is easy and the turnaround is quick. If you sign up for direct deposit, you get your money faster. I haven’t had any issues with claims being processed, and none of them have taken more than a few days. I would definitely recommend Healthy Paws Pet Insurance.

When will Healthypawspetins accept new pets in Washington state? Been waiting over 3 months and no timeline or update has been provided.

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance & Foundation | Aug 15, 2020

KL, We hope you had a great weekend. As you know, we are temporarily unable to enroll new policies in Washington state until our rating plan for new pets is accepted by the Department of Insurance. Once it's accepted by the WA State DOI, we can then enroll new pets. If you have already gotten a quote from our website, we'll contact you using the info in that quote once we can start enrolling new pets in WA. Best, The Healthy Paws Team

Sheri Ritche | Nov 18, 2021
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance & Foundation | Nov 18, 2021

Sheri - thanks for you interest in Healthy Paws. You can get a no obligation quote by going to www.healthypaws.com. During the quote process, you can adjust the reimbursement and co -insurance to see the different pricing. Having the highest deductible and lowest co-insurance level will provide the least expensive quote. The Healthy Paws Team

is there any refund from me taking my dog Alex Barrett to the hospital two weeks ago?

William Barrett | Aug 15, 2021
Dorisjean Gudino | Aug 15, 2021

Have your had Alex on the policy for the 30 days? There is a waiting period. Was he sick or hurt, was it preexisting? If he got hurt they should cover him less you're deductible. I'd be was sick and it wasn't preexisting they should also. Hopefully Alex is feeling better. Good luck

My dog is having problems with itching. Is getting her tested for possible allergies covered

mike passante | Aug 15, 2021
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance & Foundation | Aug 15, 2021

Mike, Thank you for reaching out to us with regards to verifying coverage for dog's allergies. Allergy Testing charges are certainly the type of diagnostic tests that Healthy Paws is able to extend coverage for, so long as they are not being performed as wellness/preventative care and the signs and symptoms of the condition were not present prior to your enrollment or during the 15-day waiting period. Does healthy paws comprehensive plan cover neutering?

Donald Ross | Aug 15, 2020
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance & Foundation | Aug 15, 2020

Donald - Our pet insurance plan does not cover: -Pre-existing conditions -The examination fee -Pre-existing cruciate ligament injury has a bilateral exclusion. If the cruciate ligament on one leg is injured prior to enrollment or during the 15-day waiting period, then the cruciate ligament on the other leg is excluded from coverage. This is our only bilateral exclusion. Preventative care: – Preventive healthcare including vaccinations or titer test, flea control, heartworm medication, de-worming, nail trim, and grooming. – Parasite control including but not limited to internal and external parasites for which readily available prophylactic treatments are available. – Dental health care, however if injury to teeth is caused by an accident, we do cover the cost of extraction and/or reconstruction of damaged teeth. – Spaying and neutering. – Anal gland expression.

It's been almost a year I've been waiting to sign up but not able to. How much longer will this take? I got a quote online and when I went back to buy a policy I couldn't. I'm gonna have to go with someone else if this doesn't happen soon.

Melanie Olson | Aug 15, 2020
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance & Foundation | Aug 15, 2020

Melanie - thanks for reaching out to us. The only state where we cannot take new enrollments is in WA. We are temporarily unable to enroll new policies in Washington state until our rating plan for new pets is accepted by the Department of Insurance. We apologize for the inconvenience and share in your frustration. Since you have gotten a quote, you'll be notified once we can begin enrolling new pets in WA. We totally understand if you need to insure your pet and have to enroll with another pet insurance provider. Best, The Healthy Paws Team

Is Healthy Paws for US citizens only? I'm in Canada and don't use a Zip code. Quote website would not accept Postal Code. Thanks

Lorraine | Aug 15, 2020
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance & Foundation | Aug 15, 2020

70's Girl - Thanks for reaching out to us! Pets and pet parents must live in the US and pets are covered under this policy only while the pet is in the United States of America, or temporarily away in Canada. Trupanion and PetPlan have policies that can be written for pet parents who are residents of Canada.

How do I know if my vets or other vets in the area will except Healthy Paws insurance. Is there a list for the area I live in

Donna Bechtel | Aug 15, 2020
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance & Foundation | Aug 15, 2020

Donna - Thanks for reaching out to us! Since our pet insurance works on the reimbursement model (you pay your veterinarian in full and then we reimburse you), you can take your fur baby to any veterinarian you choose within the 50 United States or in Canada if you a temporarily traveling there. Once a genetic condition is covered and the disease is chronic possibly causing future illnesses, will a claim be denied because it was caused by a "pre-exsiting" condition prior to the new diagnosis? Ie, Heart disease leading to Kidney failure

Madeline Martinez | Aug 16, 2019
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance & Foundation | Aug 16, 2019

Madeline - We hope your week is going well. The easiest way to answer your question is by saying as long as the condition is not noted in a pet's medical records prior to enrollment (making it a pre-existing condition) and does not develop during the policy's 15 day waiting period, it will be covered. The Healthy Paws Team

Do you cover annual wellness exams and preventive treatment such as heartgard and flea and tick medicine. Thanks!

Nicole Guilbault | Aug 16, 2019
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance & Foundation | Aug 16, 2019

Nicole - Wellness and preventative care is not covered under a Healthy Paws Policy. Our policy is here for the unexpected things — the expenses that you can't budget for annually. You can plan and budget for taking your pet to the veterinarian once or twice a year for their wellness visits. Some examples of preventative care include: -Vaccinations or titer testing, flea control, heartworm medication, de-worming, nail trims, spaying/neutering and grooming -Parasite control -Dental healthcare including dental cleanings -Annual fecal and heartworm testing For additional information please click the following link to see policy specific provisions related to this FAQ: https://www.healthypawspetinsurance.com/PolicyDocuments/Sample%20Policy.pdf The Healthy Paws Team

my dog just got diagnosed with diabetes, would you still cover her?

Jeri Barzotti | Aug 16, 2019
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance & Foundation | Aug 16, 2019

Jeri - Thanks for reaching out to us! Unfortunately, that would be considered a pre-existing condition and would not be covered. A pre-existing condition means that the condition first occurred or showed clinical signs or symptoms before your pet's coverage started. Our pet insurance protects you against future conditions, and unfortunately no pet insurance company covers pre-existing conditions. Give your buddy a hug from us! The Healthy Paws Team

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance & Foundation | Aug 16, 2019
