After todays visit, I'm not surprised at the negative reviews. As soon as we didn't care for the seats they offered us, they didn't care to check their attitude. Hard flat wooden stools just don't work for us so we wanted to sit at the couch. The place was completely empty so I didn't understand their attitude about it. We asked to turn the very loud music down so we could talk and they said they couldn't and not to sit by the speakers. WHAT?? Seriously. Okay. They make it difficult to get in and out. I understand about protocols but this was a bit much. We immediately felt unwelcome and after a few minutes of trying to continue our visit, we said heck with it and left. We were even chastised for not reading the sign about how it would work with seating. Oops "our bad" ??? And prices, Eeek.

I needed to work on my National Boards so I got out of my house away from my toddler so I could focus on getting it done. Opposed to going to Starbucks, I thought I’d support local. I ordered a meal and a coffee, sat down to work and they didn’t have Wi-Fi. I was actually shocked. I remember coming to this cafe about 4 or 5 years ago to work on school and they had Wi-Fi then. I just don’t see how a coffee shop in 2022 doesn’t have Wi-Fi? Nice ladies, but just an odd experience. Also, my coffee was made incorrectly. Tough start to my day off I took to work! Eek.

Sophisticated friendly and Wow! -the envy of home cooking! The type of local establishment that sets the standard. To top things off Uptown is centered on INTEGRITY! After such a friendly first-time welcome, my mate and I got totally engulfed in the carefree atmosphere. The calm conversational setting encourages you to sit a while, which my mate and I chose to do -having intended to simply purchase and go. Feeling so comforted upon leaving, I didn’t notice my wallet falling from my pocket. Hours later realizing my wallet was missing, I called Uptown to find that they had found and secured my property. What a relief for a fellow visiting Washington state form Texas, during such trying times. Sure I was glad to retrieve my property, but most joyful knowing such people; such quality food and preparation; and such an establishment thrives. My new Go-To place!

This is a quaint establishment. Been around for almost 5 years at the time we visited. Had the pleasure to meet Missy Feitz the owner aka the chef in the kitchen. The place was clean from the parking lot all the way into the restaurant. The gift shop has a lot of items are quirky and fun. One thing that caught my eyes was the Your Local Loco Moco (added spam, why not!) A very risky move putting this item on the menu if not done right. We also ordered the Hen in a Nest BLT, Blended Caramel Frap, Mango Strawberry Twister and quickly upsold into getting their scone which was worth it. The warm, soft scone was a wonderful opening act to our breakfast. It wasn't too cakey nor overly sweet and full of blueberry flavor. The coffee and smoothie were fantastic but the food came fast and hot. The dishes were neatly presented. The BLT has perfectly fried eggs in the center of the bread with still runny yoke. Vegies were fresh and the whole thing was simply delicious. Frankly I was a bit nervous about the Loco Moco because we have had some bad ones even in Hawaii but to my surprise, they did everything perfectly from the runny yoke to the use of the correct type of rice and cook it perfectly. Gravy was one of the best that I had ever tasted (I know it is only brown gravy but this is simply plate licking worthy). Balanced gravy consistency allows it to coat every morsel of rice. Lastly the spam was fried just right. Any spam lovers would know the must for crisp skin and juicy center. This was our favourite dish of the day. In short, this establishment deserves my plate-licking ovation.
