We were visiting UIUC and the hotel location was perfect. Parking was not straightforward when we just arrived, not a problem after that. Very convenient- restaurants, Target, etc. Very nice staff. Room may not be big enough for parents and two teenagers - we had two rooms.

The first attempt to get to the hotel was a complete miss as it's situated right in the center of the busy city center. There is a narrow passage between two sidewalk edges where you need to turn. However, we parked at the public parking lot close by and walked out to the lobby. Only after check in and validating the parking ticket did we find another way to get into the lot using the guest card. The hotel asst general manager took care of validating the tickets. The room is small by hotel standards, especially for 4 guests with 2 queen beds. The suite upgrade was not appealing as they had a king bed and a pullout sofa, which is quite uncomfortable to sleep in even for our kids. The bathroom is small with a wash outside, and it's quite compact, almost like Japanese hotel rooms. There is only a 32-inch TV with cable. The breakfast service, though complimentary, was a shocker. It was close to 8:30 am on a Sunday, and everything was empty except for some ready-made omelet with Velveeta. The waffle maker sucked, burning everything, the batter was runny and had too much water coming out which took forever to cook, the waffle iron conditioner was lousy in prepping, a simple option would have been Pam spray. The cereal rack was full, but there was no milk to go with the same. They were out of coffee in both carafes and had to be requested for refill. The scones were dry, the biscuits, too. Yet, we had what we could before heading out. The coffee, though, was very good and delicious. Some of the later guests were disappointed and left without getting any food. Hopefully, our experience will be better tomorrow. The pool is open by reservation and quite nice. The towels are small and not a full size. There's no toilet inside the pool to get ready. There is a coin laundry room that is good.

Loved the kitchenette that they have. And it's in the heart of everything, restaurants, university a bit of a walk to church but I will still choose it next time..... 3rd time, 2-22-2022 we are about to check in.. my wife called if we can check in early (that's what we did the last time & there's no problem with the receptionist anyway, considering it was a weekend, she was really considerate) . Anywho back to my review, the woman who answered seemed like didn't have a good breakfast, she's not that friendly saying, No! We can't! She said the check in is 4pm! then my wife said, the check in is @3. She said, OK you can try @ 3. Sarcastically! Well if you're having a bad day or cannot be accommodating since your job is being a receptionist, you might as well call off that day!

I stayed here with my family for about ten days in October 2021. The hotel's location is about the only nice thing this hotel has to offer. When I checked into the hotel, I was surprised to hear that housekeeping was only offered on Sundays. Even for that once-a-week housekeeping on Sunday, you have to make a request in advance. The hotel won't accommodate housekeeping on any other days every if you make a request. This is not in line with Marriott's policy of service every third day or by request. But it gets worse. The manager and the staff at the counter are the most unhelpful front-desk people I've run into. I can't blame the staff when you have a manager that doesn't care. I requested extra trash bags since we didn't get housekeeping for a whole week. The person at the front desk initially gave me only ONE trash bag. I kindly explained that we're staying for over a week to get more. He reluctantly gave me a few more as if I was trying to get free perks. If you're not following Marriott's policy and am screwing over long-term guests, the least you could do is give plenty of extra trash bags. The worst of it all? If you want new towels, bring back the old towel to the front desk! What a brilliant way to cut costs. With all these cheap measures, who would want to stay here at full price? Zero stars.
