I'm trying to understand why there are seats where the bikes strap in? People sit there and wont move and then I end up having to stand the whole time holding onto my bike.

Not from Lakewood. You can go from there to King Street Station, and then I think to Everett. You can take buses to Bellevue.
But the Sounder train doesn't have a Bellevue stop that I know of.
