On our way back home from the Celtic festival, we drove through this park because my husband wanted to show me the spot he lived in when he worked in the area for 2 years. We pulled in, drove slowly to the spot, he explained that he enjoyed fishing in the river that runs right next to the park. Then we headed for the exit. Pretty harmless if you ask me. We were blocked at the exit by a red pick-up, a man got out and walked to our car, checking for my license plate # as he walked up. Then he asked what we were doing there. So we explained. He then berated me by saying there were people from Yellowstone there and a bunch of security and we shouldn't be there, so we better get out of there. Oh and I was speeding..which I was not, the place is too small to "speed" 1. I truly do not give one rat's patootie about that ridiculous show. 2. I was considering the camp for possible future stays. (Not anymore) 3. If you don't want people driving through, then make sure it is clearly marked saying so. 4. I'm sure you're making really great money having all of those people stay at your spot, but when they pull up stakes, remember that people like us, are the ones that camp there.

Stopped here to drain my RV, came off the highway at maybe 15mph due to heavy traffic and immediately slowed down. I noticed a couple gals about 300’ in front of me wildly waving for me to slow down - I looked and was doing 7mph at that point. Slowed even further and parked at the station. Walked back to ask about paying and got some seriously hostile vibes from the older lady. She proceeded to scold me for driving too fast, I said I wasn’t going that fast which set her off. I just raised my hands and turned around, as I walked away she yelled in a really snotty voice “Good luck paying $20 at XYZ park down the road!” 🙄. I kept going and dumped for $5 at Deano’s Exxon station in Missoula. Free if I had bought gas. 😆 I don’t know if they were owners or managers but they were downright hostile, I recommend steering clear of the place. I see other comments here with similar experiences.
