Universoul “Universoulee” Lee

Safeway is a convenient walk and part of my weekly shopping routine. I use the pharmacy and self check out often. A short walk from Lloyd Center Mall and Dollar Tree. The store is clean, well lit, well marked sale items with helpful and pleasant staff. I’ve only had good experiences with them the past months. Keep it up, the team is outstanding.

There are never any baskets. When I asked about this I was told that there is only ONE basket in the store. People just walking right out with whatever they want - without any attempt to hide their behavior. No one enforcing masks. This grocery store is a literal pit of despair.

Safeway has stepped up on they're fresh precooked meals. I was surprised when I went in because I wasn't sure on what I was going to make for dinner but with these precook meals it was nice because all I had to do was put in the oven and it was fresh. I feel like I have a Chief cooking for me lol when I'm lazy about cooking. Way to go Safeway

Supermarkets in Portland are odd and most are overpriced. Some don't even carry a consistent stock and fluctuate greatly in price from day to day. In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king. This Safeway is better than most grocery stores in town and prices are acceptable if not reasonable. The produce selection is somewhat scarce but what's there is of decent quality. The bakery department is a favorite and often has free samples of their goods for shoppers to enjoy. With a location relatively central to various different neighborhoods and an abundance of free parking this Safeway is the one I recommend to anyone looking for a supermarket.
