Have NOT enjoyed coming into the store because of rude cashiers. Had to run in for some quick items and my experience was great. Carrie was very nice and efficient I will start shopping in store again.

No Nonsense

RE: pharmacy: no consideration whatsoever about HIPAA laws. The pharmacy staff state name, date of birth and medications I am taking without any regard to my protected health information (PHI); therefore, all customers waiting in line and other Safeway staff can hear such information. When I asked whether they had a bottle of hand sanitizer at the desk, they simply said: "No, we don't have any." There were customers coughing in line before I got to make my purchase and use the credit card keypad. Even if there were no customers coughing around me, a pharmacy (especially) should have hand sanitizer at hand. This is utterly unacceptable in 2022.

Safeway has one of the better selections for a big name Grocery Store Deli. The staff there is always friendly and wait times are generally short. As this is the only local grocery store in the neighborhood most people know each other which creates a family atmosphere. Customers tend to wait in bunches instead of a line and yet still stick with the first come first serve protocol or simply say you go ahead. Local wine and other venders are often on-site offering samples. During summer time they run a almost 24/7 BBQ for the deli. Despite being a big name box store it's always good to support the local community when we can. Most of the staff are from the neighborhood and many high school students work there part time as well.
