I am newbie homeowner and can't even begin to tell you how complicated permits, septic and all the regulations are. Having someone explain things in an easy to understand way is so important, and I have to say my experience with the SHD was great! I worked with Michael Wagner, who responded quickly via email, and even called me to make sure I understand the details. Often these agencies get a bad rep, I can tell you it's unjustified at least for Snohomish County.

Two days in a row now went to obtain my child's birth certificate.... Office opens at 8am and who I'm assuming is the manager is extremely rude tells me they are having a staff meeting at 845am and it could take over an hour and I looked and there is ZERO noticed stating they would be closed from this time to this time of any kind.....second day get there around the same time and now all the lights are off and multiple staff members are behind the counter..... First off there shouldn't be office meetings during office hours that take up a huge chunk of time with no notice or postings of anything and secondly the woman needs to learn to speak to people...

There phone system is garbage "for birth certificates press 4." I press 4. "Sorry i did not get that please try again" I try 3 more times and call 2 more times.....

If I remember correctly the vaccine clinic moved locations.
Try fish game and wildlife or the police the health district building is for birth and death certificates wic and things like that
I've seen a few and I've seen them go to the health district to get a permit of some kind

Let the management know that you are moving because of this and maybe they might want to keep you instead of them. Make paper trail and then leave. Make sure to document everything. Good luck!
