They were friendly and helpful for getting rid of my Amazon and Costco packaging collection. They take flattened cardboard boxes for free. There are heavy duty flat carts available for you to load your cardboard onto and push 5 yards for them to take. I had a whole truckload was no problem. Even took those cardboard press-formed inserts that you can’t flatten very easily without asking me to try. They do NOT take styrofoam. It’s the building at the entrance to the landfill.

Going to the 'Solid Waste Disposal' site on Meridian can be a bit of a challenge if you are in a hurry. But it can be entertaining as well. The road is basically a mile long roller coaster. Slow down, enjoy the ride and laugh as other drivers fly down the road, bouncing and bumping, trying to maintain control. The staff are usually good natured and helpful. There is free cardboard, glass, and yard waste disposal. Sort your trash, save some money, lighten the impact on landfills, appreciate having a disposal site. There are a lot of places that don't have somewhere to take your solid waste to. Thank you to All of the Staff for putting up with All of us, even the grumpy ones. 😁

Went here to recycle some cardboard. The process could be streamlined. They have you flatten all of your cardboard and load it onto a cart. When I come here again I will make sure to have my cardboard flattened before I get there.

I asked about that awhile ago. They said if you dry out the paint ( so it hardens) you can throw it in the trash
Anything can be disposed of here..you just have to pay for it. Cardboard can be recycled free.
I took a load of yard waste last summer and it was free.
It will cost you the minimum amount of $34
That depends on what your taking. Trash and Yard Waste, Yes. Most recycling i don't believe so. They do have large flat carts for Recycling
Yes
Does anyone know???
Yes you can. It's considered household refuse
Yes, I don't know what the fees are. Only recycling is free
You can probably dispose of the rims at the recycling site at the entrance to the dump, but I don't think that either place will take the tires. Try L&S Tire Company in Lakewood for that.
I would take that old water heater to:there is a metal recycling place on Canyon Road just past 128th, if you were coming from Graham.
Yes at a cost!
Concrete no. Wood yes. If it's clean and not pressure treated it can be dumped as yard waste. All other wood is taken as trash.
Yes but it cost money.
The recycling area is free.
No as long as there's a hazmat guy to take it. Hazmat is in the same place where you drop off your garbage in a cage on the left but like I said someone has to be there to take it cuz I last time I was there they said they couldn't take it cuz the hazmat guy wasn't there.
Yes appliances are $45
I don't believe they accept used oil. O'Reillys takes it for free up to 5 gallons at a time.
Yes you can
When I went, they didn't ask for any id for proof of residence.
The dump will... Unless it's got asbestos in it. Call the number to check, it may have changed though. And they don't answer questions on here.
$55 for Appliances with Freon https://www.lriservices.com/rates
Only on Tuesday and Thursday , 8 - 12, 1 - 4. If latex, you must fill the can with kitty litter/absorbent material. Its kind of a pain but for it's for the eco-system. https://www.co.pierce.wa.us/1544/Household-Hazardous-Waste
I think it has to be cut into smaller pieces but im not sure.
They take all kinds of chemicals. They will charge you ofcourse
McClendon has a container you can recycle batteries there.
Yes it was as of mid last week June 4th. Now that Pierce County is in phase 2 of reopening you may want to double check the Hideen Valley refuse website to confirm.
Yes!
Yes.
It's free
Take the dish to a recycling center and turn it in there. The metal is recycled.
Yes they are garbage
It's free
Wood is considered garbage, so it'll be a dump fee
Only if it's metal no foam or fabric
Fridge is $50 washers free recycle.
Well secret shopper you're wrong on the price. Minimum fee is $34
You can dispose of it here. Do not need to disassemble it.
Metal recycler, there's a lot of them in the port of Tacoma area. Try searching for steel recycling and call ahead to work with them on offloading it. You might make a little cash in the process. Currently steel prices are down, so its not going to be much. I've previously gone through Calbag Metals Company. They're friendly, very helpful and easy to work with.
They will take electronics/computer stuff down at the recycle. If you have enough take them to Calbag in Fife/Tacoma... The pay for them.
Donovan, yes they do. For $40. It might be hard to see, but I posted a picture of their sign with the rates on it. I think that Refrigerators fall under appliances w/freon category and therefore would cost $40 to dispose of each one.
Yes. Although the cost for each TV is $20. And if you have under 400lbs of tires and other garbage it's a flat rate of about $35
No dirt or rocks are allowed mclains in tacoma charge 40$ for a full size pick up truck
Yes. For under 400lbs of material it's a flat rate that's about $30-$35
A mattress will be accepted at the garbage building. If you only drop that off you'd fall under 400lbs of material so it's a flat rate that's around 30-35$
No, but you can take it for free to the Tacoma/University Place near Home Depot.
No.
Yes they take anything trash. You pay by the weight. And theres a minuim fee of 25$ or something like that
Yes
I would say yes. There Garbage , and its the dump I'm sure they take them
Yes they are open on memorial day. The only holidays they are not open on our Christmas Thanksgiving and New Year's. I know this because I work there.
There is a minimum dump charge of. $37.50 . That covers up to 400lbs. Probably want to clean out the garage the same day. Get your $ worth.
i think so,best to just call and ask
Yes you pay by the weight
they take all garbage and trash . goes by weight. There is a minimum charge of around 25$
What he said "
I think theres a minimum charge or like 25$ to dump. Goes by weight
Most places will charge you because they still have freon in them. I think they accept them at the little building to the right as you enter the dump. There is a place in front of tegco fence on Canyon around 136th that might take them.
Yes
Yes. The cardboard recycling center is right when you enter the gate.
No.. they must be flattened and are at the recycle center..
Yes but only on certain days. Look at their website. The dump in Tacoma on Center Street I believe takes them 7 days a week hazardous waste that is. There is no charge. They also have recycle bins for oil cardboard paper about anything else you want in Tacoma
You have to let it dry and you can get rid of it together with the garbage
