Booked Hampton Inn in Lynchburg as a recommended hotel for a nearby wedding. Basically it was a disaster. 5 out of 9 reservations were so screwed up my friends and relatives did not have a room or the correct type of room that was reserved. As the mother of the bride and hostess I heard about all of the problems that my guests Experienced. It was very stressfuI and embarrassing. I wanted this wedding/family reunion to be a joyful occasion but Hampton Inn created a lot of problems for me and the family. On two occasions the family was locked out of the rooms to no fault of their own immediately before the wedding causing even more stress. I would say this hotel will never get my business again.

Having stayed at many Hampton Inns I have an expectation of excellence. The pool was closed (I am guessing for covid precautions. But past reviews show it is rarely open and it needed to be cleaned). Cleaning service hD to be requested which we missed the sign the first night, so it was our error. We requested cleaning the next day (towels and trash taken out) it never happened. Had to request towels only to be given hand towels and wash cloths. Third day we requested towels and cleaning an still no towels and no trash taken out. The fourth day again no trash service and towels had to be requested again. This time we were given pool towels and told that there were in wash. Upon returning that evening were able to pickup bath towels from the desk. 5 nights at over $200.00 a night and this was the service we got. Breakfast was what you would expect. However the comments that were made by staff were a little unsettling. A young lady was hoping to get waffles however they were out of batter (still an hour left before breakfast closed). The staff member told the young lady to eat blueberry instead. Now in most cases this would would solve the answer for most people. However the young lady was allergic blueberries. There were no more potatoes or omelet things (folded egg items with bits of green pepper in them). The staff member went off mumbling and complaining about having to make more waffle batter. Again something that I would not expect to hear after paying yes, $200.00 a night.

First hotel I have ever stayed in that had soap scum on the glass shower doors. Was even more surprised to find green soap residue on the soap holder in the shower. Makes you wonder what the enhanced cleaning is if the routine cleaning is at this level. Rooms are fairly quiet. Very little road noise from outside. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.

I wouldn't recommend it for the price ($169 base & $181 with taxes, fees, etc.) We like to stay in Hampton Inn whenever possible primarily for the super comfy beds- our bed (King) was firm and felt old. The staff was very nice and the eating area is very large. We were able to check in 1 hr early, which was very nice. After doing so, we stopped to check out the indoor pool and fitness center. The pool was had leftover toys in it and band aids, so we were grossed out and couldn't use it. The fitness center was well-equipped, but had 4-5 teenagers in it (guessing 12-15) playing on the equipment, some without shoes and without shirts. Clearly, we weren't using that either. Despite signs requiring everyone to wear masks because of Covid (Delta variant), not a single employee was wearing them, although none of the other guests we saw were wearing masks either. The coffee/tea bar is nice, the room was clean and spacious, breakfast is good/free (although the juice was frozen and they ran out I waffle mix) and the staff were very nice. I do find it very odd that the room's curtains physically do not close, so sleeping is a challenge because of the parking lot lights at night and the sun during the day. For the money, something better can be found. We were just disappointed.
