I was here voluntarily in the low security ward for 6 days. The safety of the patients and staff were at great risk for most of my stay there, including my own. Many other patients there for mental recovery from trauma were triggered while I was in there and we all were waiting for DSHS to come and evaluate but they didn't come when I was there. I literally had to beg them to release me on Monday evening. Full disclosure: I barely got out after a patient tried to strangle my roommate before the assailant got beat by a third patient. Needless to say, DON'T SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE.

Literally the worst. Notorious throughout the Seattle area as the place you don't want to end up. Avoid at all costs. I can't believe this place hasn't been shut down for being such a complete mess. It's just there to take the state's money and do nothing to get patients better. Some details: My family member was in there for months and they didn't try different medication. They discharged her suddenly without any warning to the family and sent her home in a taxi where she immediately injured herself. I had made it clear over and over that she was not in condition to be discharged and they could not have cared less. The people at the front desk will block you from talking to your family if they feel like you're not asking kindly enough, and often times it takes 30 minutes or more on hold to actually speak to anybody at the nurse's station. They aren't willing to tell your family member that you called so they can call you back. People are absolutely right that this place is like a prison where you have no rights and are treated as an enemy and an inconvenience the entire time. They're there to take as much money as possible while doing as little as possible. Update: Just so we're on the same page, that contact link leads to a page where you can "ask for information" and the person you talk to does not care. Nothing is going to change, this company is making a ton of money and has no reason to do otherwise. A million times over, go anywhere else.

Most horrible institution I've been to. As a patient I was ASSAULTED psychically , the people that work here mess with the patients mentally for fun, and they gave me an OVERDOSE of lithium, and gave me the wrong meds multiple times, then when I finally got out they ordered an illegal lro. People that work here are as sick as the patients, and sad excuses of people that shouldn't be taking care of anyone with mental illness. Oh and I forgot to mention they dropped me off in Seattle and I had no phone no food water and the shelter was closed. They manipulate patients here in multiple ways and don't show real care. They also cut the phone lines when I tried to call my dad for help.staff also treated me based on THEIR emotions. May God help anyone who's been here, I feel for you.
blessed daily
This place saved my life and helped me find my happiness and showed me how to love myself and others. 90% of the people in there complained but they weren't willing to change and didn't want to accept help. The staff was absolutely wonderful and the doctors, therapists, case workers and RNs were very caring people. The problem is that most people did not want to have a new perspective. And you can't change people that are to scared to change. If you let go and listen to the professionals this place can and will help you. I'm a brand new person and I'm very thankful for the 9 days I stayed there. People just need to keep in mind that they got into this hospital because they needed help. If they can't accept that as truth they'll never change or get better.

Yes.
Please find somewhere else for help. Fairfax is a horrible awful place. My mom was shocked by them so much she now has no memory they actually killed her twice and had to revive her they don't use shock therapy anymore but they would if they could it wasn't always a private pay hospital but I'm sure nothing has changed o they also put me in their as a child like 11 yr. Old and said I had tons of mantel issues and I have none I was 11, and my mom needed help not Fairfax they just wanted me and her because she had Boeing insurance they ruin my mom life and my childhood gave me Prozac at the age of 11 come on I was a kid in a bad home not having mantel health issues and then they made my mom crazy to keep her there please don't go there it's not what you need
No..there is monroes facility with the elder population or other units with a mixed population
What is make up time
I recently admitted myself and had a fairly positive experience. Yes, the beds are uncomfortable, the floors are kinda dirty and the housekeeping leaves something to be desired. However, the majority of the staff was kind and responsive, and truly do have their patient's safety as their first priority. As long as you treat them with respect, they will do the same. They made special accommodations for me to see my kids. Also, the cafeteria has an awesome salad bar and the soups are pretty good. All in all I think that you get out of it what you put into it. The people that were self admitted seemed to have a more positive experience because they were aware that they needed help. I am currently attending the intensive outpatient program there and it's really helping me a lot. Honestly, I will be sad when it's over. Hope this helps!

If you need to admit him to a hospital, take him to any hospital but this one. Please seek a counselor or a therapist for the correct guidance on treating your son.
