When meeting a friend at an event I was unsure where to park and was about to run out of gas due to traffic. Every APD officer I asked for help to where I could park so I could stop before I ran out of gas was SO disrespectful and unhelpful. When I told one cop that the other officer told me to go to the lot he was near he replied with "Well I don't care what the officer said. This officer is telling you too bad keep driving" . They are so disrespectful and useless. Another officer , when leaving, completely ignored us when we asked where an escalator was that went to another area. He just sat on a table ignoring people asking for help.It is no wonder crime is on the rise. If the police can't help people with basic situations how do you expect them them to be effective to more serious situations. My family has lived here for generations and I am starting to hate being downtown. I've needed help with directions when I got turned around walking to Marta and a nice homeless man not only told me how to get there he walked me there to make sure I got there safely since it was datk. It's sad when you receive more help from some homeless people than you do from the police.

My partner moved his whole to Atlanta to join Atlanta PD. He was led to believe the academy started the first day of classes. Atlanta PD told him they didn't have enough recruits and the academy wont start for another 6 months. Absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. Physical training is a joke, they dont teach proper self defense mechanisms that prepare you for the optical course. Someone also stole my partners necklace while he was training. No one should work for this organization! Such poor communication, no integrity, no organization, and highly dysfunctional. I wish I could give 0 stars. Everyone from the ground up needs to be fired. You know its bad when people from your own city dont want to help police the city.
