We came for a birthday party and I see why! Our server, Steven, is knowledgeable, friendly and playful (our table was playfully harassing each other and Steven). The ambiance was comforting and engaging; the food was full of flavor and flare; the drinks were deliciously divine! The recommended Eggplant Knots were SO GOOD!! Thank you Steven and Thank you Volterra for a memorable evening!

Food: 4/5 Very few but great vegetarian options. We ordered beet salad, vegan linguine and veges, blood orange soda and clementine sparkle. Everything was delicious. The pasta was full of veges and very flavorful. The salad also had a great texture and mix of sweet and juicy flavours. Not a perfect 5 only because the pasta felt like a mixture and didn’t blend together but tasty nevertheless. Ambiance: 5/5 Classy fine dining ambiance! Service: 5/5 The server was very nice and friendly and came to check in once a while. Value: 4/5 Spent around $35 pp which is quite reasonable for a fine dining place. Return? Yes - sadly they have limited vege options but would come back for the same meal.

I was taking my daughter out for dinner and picked Volterra as a higher end Italian restaurant that was actually recommended by Racheal Ray. The dining space was a little on the small side and felt slightly cramped especially with proper distancing, but beyond that it was amazing. The staff was friendly and worked hard to give you the best service. The food was beyond excellent. Before you even order drinks they rush out half a loaf of sliced hot Italian bread with olive oil and seasonings to have it with. The appetizer meat and cheese plate was the best tasting cuts, and cheese olives. We both agreed on and had the Dungeness crab ravioli. It was perfect! Filled with a lot of fresh tasting crab, made with hand made organic pasta and covered with a sauce that made the whole dish heavenly. We shared a chocolate dessert with vanilla gelato and hot fudge sauce on the inside. Yummy! It is about $80 to $100 for two people but well worth it for special occasions and if you love really good Italian food.

The lamb shark probably is the best I’ve had so far. Tender, tasty, juicy. All the flavors are seared in the lamb. I can pull it easily with fork only. I’m not a big fan of olives, but it’s minor and little in the plate. The cream polenta is ok for me, I’m not a fan of buttery meal as well. Hope the review provides some information for people who need.
