Aeration and overseeding can help your turf thrive throughout the growing season. Core aeration, or the removal of turf roots and soil cores, can have many benefits, including improving water infiltration, reducing the thatch layer, increasing decomposition and microbial activity, and efficient nutrient management. Late summer to early fall is the best time for aeration as this is where there is rapid growth. The second best time is in the spring. You can also coordinate aeration with fertilization for better infiltration. Overseeding introduces new grass plants, thickens the lawn, and renews low-density grass areas, filling in space that weeds may otherwise colonize. Overseeding will help maintain a lush and healthy lawn capable of outcompeting weed pressure, disease problems, insect problems, and high traffic compaction. We work very closely with the University of Maryland, our Vendors, and Lawn Care partners to develop our True Organic Lawn care program.
Honesty and transparency are important in a relationship, and we would never want to provide false expectations. To make a long answer short, every lawn is different. There are a lot of factors to consider, including seasonality, water drainage, sun exposure, pH levels, pets, weather, number of high traffic areas in your lawn, not addressing lawn issues or diseases in a timely fashion. The lawn care program you are enrolled in We typically tell our clients that it takes about 2 to 3 years to see a complete transformation of your lawn.
Your lawn is likely in "hibernation mode," aka dormant. This is normal for the winter season and most likely nothing to be concerned about. You can learn more about this process by reading this helpful blog:https://www.bladesofgreen.com/blog/why-does-my-lawn-turn-brown-winter
Our lawn care process is based on the science of how your lawn grows best. We are committed to using some of the safest products in the industry and applying them in the safest manner possible. The products you have under your kitchen sink are more hazardous than the formulas we use on your property.
