For a previous move, I’d picked up a U-Haul around the corner from Interbay Self Storage. I’d originally reserved there again, but my reservation was moved to this location a few days in advance. On pickup day, I only waited about 5 minutes, and the employees were helpful. The only major downside of this location is that you can’t leave your car there while you take the U-Haul. I had to drive about a quarter mile down the road for street parking on busy 15th Ave and then walk back. I’d probably use the location around the corner (which has ample parking) instead of this one in the future, but it was okay overall.

The general manager of this location was extremely helpful at my check out in the morning. The young woman checking me in at the end of the day was so patient and kind. I'm so impressed I'm going to rent from them again next month when I help my son move!

Reservation at 10am. Waited in line for 40min. The service was incredibly slow, and the person who checked me out was totally zonked. They assured me it was fine to drop off the vehicle after hours as long as I followed their checkout procedure. Truck was fine. I came back to drop off after closing, followed their checkout procedure, and found that their drop box for the keys was broken. Two other parties dropping off at the same time were having the same issue with their keys. I called customer service, waited on the line for 20min, and was told to hide the keys in a certain spot because this sort of thing “happens all the time”; she said she would let the staff there know. I got an angry call from uhaul the next morning, who had no clue why I hadn’t returned the keys, even though after I explained the situation the manager mentioned that “a bunch of people had not returned their keys”. I’d excuse the inability of uhaul’s staff to put two and two together if they were courteous, communicative, and efficient, but they were none of these. You could not pay me to stand in line for almost an hour and get admonished by a manager for their own incompetence the next day; I will not be returning.

The pickup truck I rent had only one quarter tank fuel left, but I didn't check it via the text message link because I thought it was a simple dump trip for a couple of hours only. After 17 miles and two hours use, I put a $5 gas into the truck which made the tank look more than when I started. However, the interbay U-Haul location worker charged me extra FOUR GALLONS of fuel. And he said it was my fault because I didn't confirm the records before leaving via their text message link. I'm wondering why their records had to charge the customers extra fuel! Was it for only if the customers didn't confirm it so they can make tricks on you? I'm obviously not a U-Haul's often customer and didn't know they play such a trick on you. But THIS IS UGLY!!!!! By the way, the only other time I had a bad face-to-face customer service experience like this was about 12 years ago with United Airlines.

It would be more cost effective to purchase a tape dispenser and tape at an office supply store such as Staples.
Agreed! Did key drop at the end of move when they were closed. Easy!
