6 miles out and back without circling the lake due to frozen conditions. Quick 3 hr hike with many waterfalls and streams throughout. Last 0.5 mile is still snow covered till you reach the lake. Dog friendly trail. Make sure to stop and look behind you for asto and views of mountain peaks. Reached the trailhead at 6:30 and parking was empty. Had entire trail just for us.

Not super challenging trail and very diversified. The trail is well maintained, but can be a bit hard or slippery especially during the rainy day. The lake was beautiful, still half frozen with snow ordered. Will definitely cone back again. The parking is limited though so be there early.

it was a really fun hike. we went in the beginning of April and it hailed and snowed on us quite a bit! the views were beautiful, even though it was pretty cloudy so we couldn't see all of it. the trail is amazing the whole way with lots of waterfalls, big views, and a great end at the lake!

My favorite day hike, absolutely beautiful from start to finish. Hiked it 3/10 and there was still slick snow on the last third of the trail. I would definitely recommend trekking poles and I even used my micro-spikes briefly on the way down. Totally worth it. The lake is so gorgeous with snow and the frozen wateralls. Don't leave anything visible in your car. The parking area is covered in broken glass from break-ins.

Yes, they love it. Leash law in effect and pick up after them.
I'm not sure at this point.Unless your an experienced hiker cause of the snow in the hills you may wish to reconsider.
Hemple Creek is just east and across the road from Lake 22 trailhead. It is a day use/picnic area only.

Then Is it slippery because of the snow when I go to the lake?
You can hand write your temporary pass validation codes on anything. I once used a paper plate. But if you don't display those codes somehow you will get a ticket.
