Until the road gets fixed later this summer 2022 the road is beyond belief in potholes. Don't come if you have a small lowrider car. Please only come if you're prepared with hiking shoes and gear. This is a dangerous mountain, and you won't have fun if you're all soaked with snow and endangering yourself.

This trail sure is popular! Luckily I was able to locate a parking spot. I've been wanting to hike up to Mount Pilchuck Lookout for a few years. I couldn't of asked for a better day to do this trek. It took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to reach the summit and I enjoyed every minute of this trail. Especially love the sections where you need to traverse through the boulder fields... makes climbing to the top so much more entertaining. This is easily one of my new favorite hikes. And those panoramic views from the apex of Mount Pilchuck... BEAUTIFUL !! Very happy this lookout still exists.

Hiked on 12/5. Getting here: The road to get here is filled with deep potholes. If you have an AWD, you should be fine but drive slow. The road towards the end is icy so be careful. Trail: It was fully covered in snow. Hiking without spikes is doable but risky and much more tiring. This trail climbs more than 2500ft elevation in less than 2 miles. Being fully covered in snow, the climb becomes harder if you don't have the right gear. I'd recommend gloves, spikes, beanie, snacks, and plenty of water. Most people were wearing masks through-out. It took me about 1 hour 50 mins to reach the summit. The summit: Stunning 360 views of Mt. Baker and Mt. Rainier on the top. I stayed up for about 40 mins before heading back.

Absolutely stunning views and not to tough of a hike. Went up on a Tuesday so not many people at the top. Amazing place to fly your drone and completely legal to do so. To the random guy who wanted to complain about the sound of the drone that only can fly for 15-20min. Your complaining was louder and more distracting than any drone could be. Everyone enjoys nature in their own way, sometimes people want to take drone footage so their disabled family members can experience the views also.

No mountain bike trails in that area, but you could theoretically bike the road though I don't recommend it.
İt was open on last Saturday. İ am pretty sure it is still open. The snow was negligible. We used microspikes but many people did not. Note that the forest road is pretty bad. We saw two sedans turn back because of the holes. But then there was Tesla Model3 and two Priuses at the TH.
