I took my husband with a very strong lower back pain he was suffering and he couldn't walk or sit, I went to the reception and told the girl that I need help to take him to in to to waiting room, since I am pregnant and I couldn't support the weight of my husband, much less carry him by myself, she told me to park in front of the entrance that someone would come to help me, we waited 35 minutes parked there waiting for someone to lend us a wheelchair and not one came out to help, I went to ask what was going on two more times until a not very friendly nurse came out to help me. He left us in the waiting room, we gave the insurance information and that was all they did for us, we waited an hour and a half for someone to attend him but nobody ever attended him, he complained of so much pain, that he wanted me to throw him on the floor because he couldn't stand sitting anymore, but then I decided to take him to another emergency room since it seemed like no one cared about him. It is worth mentioning that the room was empty, there were only 4 people waiting and during all that time they did not attend to anyone.

I am in the ER and I asked one question *Where is the gift shop?* The staff told me *who second floor* and *THERE IS NO GIFT SHOP* In fact of a rude mood. Also the waiting time is a long but long time, With one of the vending machine of drink took my money and did not give the soda.

I have been a nurse for 49 yrs (46 yrs as an ER nurse, leader and educator). I still teach nurses and community and am a nurse legal consultant. I can effectively evaluate professional medical care. I was taken to the ER by ambulance with a severe medical condition and was cared for expertly and promptly in the ER. The medical, nursing and support staff all worked together to achieve my treatment goals. I had to be admitted for 2 days for continued care and also enjoyed the same expert level of care and kindness from all the staff. I had another medical emergency while I was admitted and the nurses intervened promptly and appropriately saving me from a bad outcome. The support staff was so kind and helpful and it was greatly appreciated during my time of need. I would not hesitate one second to return there for emergent or urgent care. Hospitals are overrun with staffing issues, increased patient volumes, budgetary constraints and insurance and governmental guidelines and mandates. It is very difficult to meet everyone's needs to what is expected. Please try to understand the pressures they endure to be available for us all. I thanked everyone who helped me return to a good state of health and maybe that went a long way towards the return interactions with them. Might be nice for us all to remember that to improve our lives and our service!

There is no longer inpatient services at this location. As such, the ER visiting hours are 24/356. The observation unit has the same hours.

Does Laurel Hospital have the ability to treat heart attack and strokes? From reading the reviews, the place sounds pretty bad.

Laurel regional is no longer a hospital. It is only a stand alone ED. For patients that are critical or require assistance that they cannot provide, the patient will be stabilized and transferred to another facility such as PG Hospital.
