I booked my room and paid for it 2 months in advance. I was flying in to fort myers to attend a wedding. 4 days before my my trip, they emailed me that they cancelled my booking. I was unable to book another hotel as they were all fully booked on short notice. I called their parent company wyndham, they said all they could do was book me a room in Sebring Florida 82 miles away, but it would cost me $500 more. I ended up having to cancel my non-refundable flight and missing the wedding. Worst treatment I've ever received from a hotel, they basically ruined a trip that I had planned for months in advance and ended up costing me hundreds of dollars in the process. Will never book anything with wyndham again!

This place was a safe haven for me and fellow co-workers during our storm reponse. It withstood Hurricane Ian. The manager lady Roopa handled the storm situation like a pro. We lost electricity in the entire hotel, and the entire city was evacuated, but she still ensured us guest were very comfortable and she even found food for us. The hotel was very clean. It could use a few more upgrades, and staff deserves bonuses and recognition.

Read the fine line before you stay here if you have dogs. They changed their policy mid stream. I have been coming here for well over a year with my dogs. Never an issues till the last stay in August, we were just there late July, nothing was said to us about any changes. When I made the reservation , I then called to follow up like I always do, nothing was said then. When I got to the hotel I was told they tried to call me the morning of my reservation that they policy changed. Well, we were already in town, then said we could not stay there with our dogs. I requested them to call the manager as she was off, he did, she allowed us to stay but then charged us for the dogs, when there was not charge previous to their changes. We had no where else to go as we have dogs that are over 25lbs , the reason why we stay at La Quinta. I am going to miss Heather and Maria, they have always been amazing, but I will not forget how I was treated by this manager. I tried to call corporate, but good luck! I have since gotten a reply from them. And unfortunately it was a stock reply. Did not address any issues. They had a chance to make it right and failed miserably. Shame.
