We need to get rid of emissions testing in Maryland. What's the point of wasting gasoline for no reason? How is that making the air cleaner?

Reading all these reviews I must have just come on a bad day. It took me over an hour, and when I offered to come back another day I was threatened with a $300 fine because my emissions were past due. I left MD for 3 years, was a resident of another state, and when I moved back and reregistered the vehicle in MD, that didn't reset the emissions testing due date. The person behind the counter was more than a bit burned out, and told me to just wait even though he knew they were packed and under staffed. In situations like this, I feel they should be authorized to issue a 7day waiver. After my long wait, they were courteous.

They are not open to the public; just deliveries.
I went this Saturday (6/20) and it was closed. Going next week again. Read that 17 MVAs are opening on 22nd. But there was no mention of VEIPs. Going to try nevertheless.
