Nice hotel, aesthetically pleasing. Functionally, the rooms lack comfort for the price. The rooftop bar, the whiskey thief is great. The view from the pool area is amazing. I would really call it more of a bathtub, not a pool. The bathroom was the best part of a hotel room. I would stay here again but would shop for a better deal than the $400 we paid for the night.

Around 10am we had someone enter our room. I notified the hotel through the chat via the Marriott app. They sent someone up to check, I only knew this as I heard them on the radio describing the problem to the lady who also tried to enter our room. Front desk was not helpful in correcting the situation and still have not heard back from them as to why this happened. The only thing that prevented them from entering our room was the security latch. The deadbolt was locked and still their key provided them access to our room. What is the purpose of a deadbolt if your housekeeping can just enter your room while it is locked. I would expect better from a 5 star hotel. Other things we did not like was the pool, it was warm and didn't provide any coolness on a hot day. This was the main reason we chose this hotel. In addition there was no bar or menu service at the pool. You could walk to the Whiskey Thief and stand in line at the bar. Not impressed.

I'm local so I haven't stayed overnight. The Edwin is beautiful inside. It's unique location by the Walnut Street Walking Bridge puts it in between the Aquarium and the Art District and it's on the River Walk. Easy urban hikes to all the restaurants downtown and a one mile hike across the Walking Bridge to the North Shore. Check out the free electric bus shuttle or rent a bike.

The restaurant and coffee shop are simply a joke. Service is pitiful. Room keys never work and elevators are a pain. Housekeeping is pretty sketchy. A chair to sit in would be really nice in the room. Chattanooga has way too many cool hotels to waste your money at the Edwin. The roof top bar is nice, when its open. Overall the lest accomidating hotel I stayed in in a long time. As my son said they put everything into the look and totally overlooked function. So disappointed!
