You must have done something stupid to get kicked out. Either that or you quit before the class ended. Swift doesnt hold your pay or teach you improperly Mr Winters. If they held your pay go file a claim for lost wages with the Labor Department instead of looking like an idiot in a public forum. I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Learn how to drive

Bharat, you will need to have an American license for at least a year, no major issues with getting pulled over, drinking and driving etc. Swift will help pay towards the loan but you have to sign up to drive for them. Roadmasters the same way but I'm told their going to be only accepting people who will pre hired with Werner as they bought out Roadmaster. Brush up on your English and comphrending skills so you can understand everything and pass. Plenty of foreign people come over to learn how to drive and either stay or go back with education and experience under their belt.

If you just got your license theyll probably want you to go through theyr training again or atleast drive with a mentor for a few months.they have theyr own training so you dont need a coml.license to aply. They do have strict backgroung and phisical test requirenents though.

I'm. Currently an O/O with swift its still a pretty good company to drive for but like any company there will be ups and downs but all in all out of everyone I've hauled for I still like them the best 👌

Nope....nope....nope. 1st you are over thinking already. Im not sure if you are a new driver or if you are attending SWIFT Academy but you DONT need to be trying anything concerning backing if you are not in a Commercial Vehicle.....you will only confuse & scare yourself more. And plus whatever you are not properly taught about backing it will be that much more work for a mentor to work through. If you want to find a local truck Stop, TA, Loves, Pilot Flying J....and observe the movements of the Big Rigs, I don't think that would hurt much..but you should just be prepared & pay attention to the instructor. They will show you. Listen and follow their instructions. Backing is always PRACTICE. Even us seasoned drivers are practicing every time we park. You will have good days & not so good days when IT comes to backing... don't stress it! Its always PRACTICE, the more you practice the better you will get. You'll learn how to set yourself up to back, you will get better at understanding

You only pay anything for the training if you don't work for them for at least a year after the school. It does come out of your pay for the first year however after you work a second year they repay you for it making it free for you if you work for two years.

I'm assuming you're talking about the academy? I went to west valley city...which I highly recommend! I was with them for 11 months. Make sure you pay off your tuition before leaving or they will call you within a week saying theyre sad to see you go then get rude quickly soon after about owing tuition still. I loved swift and had a nice time it was a good starter company. I got a better offer and am making double the pay i was with them. But definately id go and stay the 12 mon or even 24 months so you get paid back the tuition...west valley has very fun trainers. Pay is weekly and you get paid like 500 a week while mentoring then that goes up when you upgrade.

Just about all terminals are undergoing updates but as of the first of June many are done. As I understand it Phoenix is yet to come and that means building 9 (drivers building) will be closed. Not sure when that is supposed to happen.

Well, the majority is drop and hook. You don't need your trailer only the truck if you like to contract it. Trucks have to be 2011 or newer for them to be contracted

Swift is a lousy place to work. They cant get you to places you need to go when you get to get there. i missed xmas, birthdays, time off and more with them. they pay very low and complain and dont pay about extra miles driven. unles your on top on you driver mngr you can be left with no loads or places you font want to go to.

If you join any company as a company driver it's their truck so they are mostly in control of where the truck goes. They will give you the location of where to pick up freight and where to deliver it. You can plan your own routes for how to get where you're going but you need to have a good reason if you're going out of route. 9 times out of 10 you will probably just use interstate highways to go the shortest distance possible. In the winter you may need to go around certain routes because of road closures, chain requirements, restrictions etc. Even if you own your truck you will want to go the shortest distance just because of fuel costs and wear and tear on the truck.

Yes, and ignore people that tell you not to go to Swift you go where you get the best chance to start your career. There are as many bad reviews as good you need to decide for yourself. Many leave and end up returning. You get more freight with Swift.
