HIGH CRIME The apartments look nice but be weary. Management is so absent is ridiculous. We had our car stolen from out front of our place as well as are garage broken into twice. Found a USED medical needle in the pool..we haven't been back since. Be prepared to wait a week or more for simple requests like light bulbs or filters. Apartments are set up similar to duplex with four doors at one entrance but because there is Major Lack of Parking, some resident will just park in front of the door blocking all four apartments and wheelchair ramps. I have too many days where I wake up to find someone parked in front of my garage blocking me in completely. You cannot call the manager, you have to go see if they are in the office and speak with them in person. Not worth the price, or the headache.

I have lived here for the last couple of years. Over the course of 3 months a lot of long term tenants left SC. Every week we were getting police and fire trucks coming into the complex. My neighbor had some random guy walk into his apartment and he and another neighbor chased him down. The police were called out and apparently this young man was going through the complex seeing who was home and opening doors. Another incident I witnessed was a domestic violence dispute between a couple. It was in the evening and a car pulled around, and the boyfriend pulled a gun out on his girlfriend. In September, some woman rammed her car into a stairway railing leading to an apartment home. It was a two alarm fire and police were called out. My neighbors below left in July and their apartment is still vacant to this day. My other upstairs neighbor moved out last week and she left because they increased her rent over $400. To me, it does not feel safe anymore and my neighbors have said the same. We use to have a security guard that actually rode around the complex checking on everyone. I knew him by name but we don't have that now. They charge all these amenity fees for "events". "Events" hosted are food trucks coming in once a week or they are for residents that have small businesses. It's not geared to the community as a whole. The former property management company had a great manager named James Reed. He would have get togethers in the clubhouse for residents such as Saturday brunch, or happy hours. One year for Christmas, he had a nice little Christmas gathering in the clubhouse and hired a jazz band and had drinks and food. So many residents came out to those events he put together. That is now long and gone.... The grounds are not kept well anymore. The dog park gates are always busted with broken latches and do not close properly. Owners have to tie their leases to the gates to keep them closed while their dogs are in the park. The fence facing the east side is rusting out. You can push it with your foot and it swings right out towards the side walk making it an escape for dogs. There is lots of dead brown grass everywhere and the landscaping aesthetic is very poor. The only positive thing I can say is that the Property Manager, Sky, is very reasonable and personable to work with as a resident here.

I build and inspect homes in my profession, but I wanted an apartment in this area. I am also a Marine, so we are hard to please sometimes when it comes to being clean, lol. I was blessed to be assisted by Michael, Maria, and Jenelle. They worked great as a team when Michael was out showing or checking on work in apartments, Maria answered all my questions in the office. I have walked a lot of apartment communities on the Northside, and they all have their pros and cons. There are more pros in my situation. I chose to stick with San Cierra, because the community is peaceful and beautiful to live in along with other working professionals. The pool is clean, the pool table is well maintained, the landscape is beautiful, and the gym is available for use. Now you can see where my priorities are. I also knew there wasn't much parking for visitors before I moved in. That keeps the noise down as I prefer. The San Cierra team did not disappointment me. I have read the negative reviews, but overall, Michael and the team looked out for me. We walked through the actual apartment I was receiving before I provided my payment. I then received my keys upon my approval. Michael made sure my apartment was cleaned, that all appliances were in great working condition, walls were freshly painted, rich wood floors were stripped and cleaned, kitchen and restrooms received brand new modern faucets for the sinks, side by side washer and dryer instead of stackable, a clean working garage, and a working air condition unit programmed to my phone, to say the least. I would mention the brand-new fluffy carpet, but I don’t want to make anyone jealous, lol. San Cierra, my apartment was listed to be ready in about 3 to 4 weeks after I first spoke with Michael. He asked me what date I needed to move in. I told him in one week. He said, "let me see what I can do." Michael called me back immediately and said it will be ready for move in on the date I requested. I could tell he was a "Make it happen" type of person even when speaking with him over the phone. Allow me to suggest you hire 10 more Michaels in all departments and the community will be happier as a result. Just as I thought it could not get any better. Jenelle in the Finance/Leasing Department informed me that It appeared that I was approved with a leasing program called “flex.” Ask her about it. Jenelle verified that I could split my lease up into two different payments on the dates I approve of during the month. That meant I did not have to pay my lease in one big payment at the beginning of the month. That just took my breath away to hear her say that. I can keep more money in my pocket throughout the month. Who wouldn’t want to hear that? Thanks Team. Respectfully written...

Questions & Answers

Does anyone know if this community has a manned gate? Or do you insert a code or swipe a card to get in?

It used to have a manned gate before Roscoe bought the property now we have a sometimes security guard that is supposed to be here. I used to feel safe and secure here but not so much anymore after 6 years. The manager is very anti social and will lie to cover her own mistakes.

Is this the kind of community where people can sneak In behind those that have a key fob or code? Or is there a security guard that doesn’t let non-residents in?

There is always the ability to sneak in no matter what. Then you have all those who have the gate code and are friends or family of residents. But it is a very quiet and safe place, I love it there
