Awesome natures trails for working out and also just enjoy the sites. A hidden gem for Texas. Good on your knees and back too. Nice place to take your pets...they even have doogy bags and cans. The maps could be a bit more understanding in my opinion. I've seen better park maps. Just follow the blue trails signs. Be sure the stop at the Treehouse Overlook. It's lovely!

This is a favorite park of mine. Lots of good hiking trails. There's an overlook ' tree house' over a creek with a great view. Good signage so you know where you are and good explantions of the land you're viewing. Two bird blinds! Nice restrooms. Good parking.

I agree. Put on NextDoor soliciting for a walking buddy. I go daily. You would be ok walking alone. There are always folks there.
Hi James! Bikes are not allowed in Oliver Nature Park but our linear trail was just expanded to add a concrete trail that starts at the back of the park and goes 1.25 miles to the 360 service road. There is no direct connection to the highway, so you would be riding on grass (and private property) for about 100 yards or so to get to the road itself, which we do not recommend. Most guests just turn around at the trail head at 360 and take the trail back in the opposite direction. Future expansions that are currently in development will take the trail under 360 and to the eastern city limits, and also add a paved path that will connect the new section to the existing linear trail that ends at McKnight Park East. So you should very soon be able to ride a longer distance, but for now we have the standalone segments. The best place to access the new linear trail segment is from Philip Thompson Soccer Complex, 1071 N Holland Road.
Yes but people are beginning to trample them in some areas.. It's a popular photo spot right now
It's more of a nature preserve, if you will. No playground for kids. The park has room for playing catch, etc or walking in/observing nature. It's located in a beautifully wooded area.
No, there's a swimming area, but is not open to the public yet
No, to preserve the natural wildlife habitats there are no lights in Oliver Nature Park. It closes according to the sunset, so the hours vary throughout the year. Currently it is open 5am-6pm. It will be open until 9pm starting mid March. If you are looking for lighted trails to run or walk on, check out the Walnut Creek Linear Trail. It has trailheads at Town Park (500 Main St) and McKnight Park East (700 US 287, next to Fieldhouse USA). You can see the route on the blue dots on the map on this page: https://www.mansfieldtexas.gov/1179/Walnut-Creek-Linear-Trail WCLT is 12-ft wide, concrete and lighted for nearly all of the trail.
Yes very pet friendly
