Siphon Draw Trailhead to the Majestic FlatIron peak is one of the most difficult yet breathtaking hikes/climbs in the central region of Arizona. I've hiked this trail several times at various times during the year. At the end of October seems to be one of the best times to take on this challenging trek. If you are not an experienced hiker this is probably not going to be the best 1st hike. This trail is steep, rugged and at points extremely dangerous. Be smart and know your own abilities so that you won't end up on the evening news as a rescue or casualty. On this particular day we decided to camp overnight on the FlatIron. I'd you do decide to stay up, simply inform the rangers and they will give you a camping pass for your vehicle. Also, pack light. I packed with 80lbs of gear and it can make a difficult hike 5x more challenging. Water is essential even in the cooler months. Proper footwear is extremely important as some parts of the trail are jagged and slippery.

This hike is advanced for most people. Bring plenty of hydration and food. Start early in the morning. Plan for an all day experience.

Most beautiful scenery I seen 😍 . Is breathtaking literally. About 6 miles hike to get to the top, The Flatiron. It was a really hard hike for me, I was dying 😪 but I made it. Is so worth it when you get to the top the view is amazing.

Yes there is a shower facility at the beginning of the trail as well as fire pits in the camo sites.
10 dlls per car.
It is 6 miles round trip
Unfortunately not. This is a challenging jaunt. While there are not waterfalls that I'm aware of, the Apache Wash trailhead has lots of accessible walking/hiking areas that may be of interest to you and your husband. Cheers!
