Great spot for an easy rainy day hike through beautiful old growth forest with lots of river views.

This is a pleasant walk through an old-growth forest. Lots of moss, lichen, trees of various types. The ADA trail is a smooth, mostly flat gravel trail, with occasional turnouts and a river overlook. It is a peaceful, pretty trail well worth the time. There are no spectacular vistas, but kind of like the comfort food of trails. There are a few offshoot trails that are well with the time as well. They are not difficult, but certainly not ADA. They offer a more intimate forest experience with more views of the river and a stream. I know this trail gets traffic, but on a Friday my small group did not see any other people. If you do most of the ADA loop, but also the offshoot trails, it will be about a 7-mile hike.

Great hike we love it.. Better than the Olympic rain forest.

Easy, level trail in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Park. Accessible from I-5 passing through the towns of Oso and Darrington. About 6 miles roundtrip from main trailhead (with toilet, bigger parking lot, and picnic tables) to the minor trailhead (smaller parking lot and no toilet). Recommended for all abilities, small children and pets.

Questions & Answers

Are the bathrooms open?

No bathrooms at least on trailhead we started on. This was lot just south of Darrington. Looks as if there is another lot down from our spot further down the Mt. Loop tho that empties into the trail at the end where we were. Good luck I anticipate something there for ADA loop👍

Is there access to walk down to the river or sit by the river???

Gold was found further up the road at Monte Cristo, an old mine. It's on the map. But I suppose you could find a little gold anywhere

It's pretty narrow. I would say no.
