This was such an awesome hike. We took our kids that rocked it and enjoyed seeing the River along the way. We went pretty early and glad we did, parking fills up quick but trail didn’t seem busy.

Did the hike in late summer 2021. The stream was fairly low and the trees were beginning to turn. We meet a person that had come up on a moose just minuets after we past the same spot on the trail. Encountered a couple motor cycles on the trail . . . not sure if this is allowed . . . kind of sucks to have to breath their exhaust though. I think this would be a interesting trail to hike after a snow fall.

Excellent weekday hike either solo or with the Family. Dog and Kid friendly although there are some spots during the winter that can be narrow and slippery so be sure to bring the proper footwear and accessories. Weekends can be busy during the tourist season so be aware.

it was a really nice hike, we went a little after peak Aspen season, but there was still burning golds and oranges in the air, it was the first hike that we did once we landed in colorado, the beautiful Creeks were very refreshing to look at and drink from with a water purifier, there were plenty of people on the trail, we didn't hike all the way to the end but we made it about 3/4 of the way and it was absolutely gorgeous, definitely not the best trail I've ever done, but it was a good welcome to Colorado. there is a bridge at the beginning of the trail that you cross, so you don't really need to cross any water with waterproof shoes, and I do believe that pets are allowed on this trail but I'm not 100% certain. The crispy fall air filled my nostrils as well as all of the dust from the parking lot lol, the parking lot is all gravel and very dusty, definitely not wheelchair friendly if for some reason you planned on bringing somebody in a wheelchair on a hike. I would say we hiked about 2 mi in and 2 mi out but you passed through some really pretty areas, including some wooded groves.
