When I limped into Dr. Martinez’s office, I was greeted by his welcoming staff. I didn’t know what to expect. I had seen so many doctors before him. None knew exactly how to treat my issue. Dr. Martinez listen to me, looked at all the notes from the other doctors and discovered what they had missed and treated my problem. I was able to contact the staff, after business hours by text, and discuss my short term from my job. WOW not only took care of me physically but also mentally put me at ease mentally. I strongly recommend them. They have a blueprint that other doctor offices can learn from. Thank you guys!!!

Dr. Martinez and his team went above and beyond to make sure I had the best outcome possible with my procedure. He answered all my questions as well as some I didn’t know to ask. When speaking to my husband after my surgery, Dr. Martinez realized he wasn’t quite understanding all the “Dr.” speech, so he began speaking in layman’s terms to help my husband understand exactly what all took place during surgery. I would 100% recommended Dr. Martinez to help you on your journey to living a pain-free life!

My PCP recommended me, and I couldn’t be happier that I sought treatment here. Dr. Martinez and his staff were excellent and friendly! My situation was a strange one, but Dr. Martinez and I worked together on a solution. Ever since my procedure, my quality of life has skyrocketed. I definitely plan on returning for another round of treatment after the summer! I felt very comfortable during the entire procedure, and they made sure that any discomfort I felt was quickly resolved.

It’s variable depending on the cause, some patients might feel better when active and others need to rest before being active again in short spurts.
Categories of back pain can be degenerative, muscular, or nerve related.
Generally, if your pain is recent, specific injury, achy, dull and you are younger and athletic pain tends to be muscular in nature. If you feel pain radiating down into an extremity from your spine then it could be due to a nerve compression.
Visceral pain is pain that is hard to pinpoint generally within the abdomen or chest. It can also be a not always clearly defined pain, but it is internal pain.
You can apply heating pads, stretch, or manual massage for relief. You can also alternate between ice pads to reduce inflammation and heat pads to improve blood flow.
Yes, you can park a semi truck on the sidelines of the street and around the main office for sure but there is not an specific parking lot as far as we know that is marked or let you park specifically a full semi truck. Hopefully this will help.
Radiating pain means pain that begins in one spot and projects to another location.
The most commonly chronic pain is neuropathic.
The 4 types of pain are somatic, visceral, neuropathic, and central pain.
Usually chronic pain is pain that persists for 3 months or greater than 3 months.
Yes, pain management doctors can help diagnose fibromyalgia but generally after ruling out other medical conditions and after careful screening of a patient to arrive at this diagnosis of exclusion.
Pain management doctors are considered sub-specialists. Doctor Martinez at Way Out West Spine + Mobility has completed all medical school, intern year, residency, fellowship, and double board certified to be comfortable treating a wide range of pain conditions.
There is no single silver bullet for nerve pains. In general, it takes careful considerations of the cause of the pain, patient's medical conditions, and the goals for therapy to decide on what medication would be best.
You should see a double boarded certified pain physician taking note that their board certifications are backed by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
We generally try to avoid medications as much as possible since most people are already on lots of them. However, if needed we will add medications based on the type of your pain and what has been tried in the past. If, at all possible, we will remain non-narcotic since we think ethically that's the best option in the long run.
At your first pain management visit at WOW Spine + Mobility, we will review your past medical, surgical, and social history. How long you've dealt with your discomfort, what quality, character, chronicity best describes your discomfort. What has been done in the past and what studies have been done before to evaluate your pain. We will discuss the need for further studies or procedural options based on what studies you have already done.
