I parked at this park and ride Des Moines freeway off of Military road. Yesterday 08/08/2022. This was my first time parking at this location. When I returned back to my car after work. I cranked up my car it was extremely loud I drove to the muffler shop down the street. I was told someone attempted to steal my catalytic converter. It was cut in half and was hanging low. I know it happened at the park and ride. This was the only place my car was parked, other than in my closed in garage. I was upset. I also noticed broken glass in the parking lot where it appeared someone's window was shadowed/ broken out of their car. My first and last time parking at this park and ride. No security or security cameras visible. Not a safe place. Hard expensive lesson learned.

I highly recommend getting dropped off here only. Do not park your car here. My parents had their cars broken into 5 different times. We’ve reported it to the police and metro but nothing was done. They didn’t just break in, each time they stole different car parts. Whoever is committing this crime knows exactly what they’re doing and what times to come do it so they don’t get caught. You’ve been warned.
