How did Macungie Memorial Park get named? Is there any history on its naming? Is the Celtic pronunciation... McConahey?

Macungie is derived from "Maguntsche", a place name used as early as 1730 to describe the region that is now Macungie and Emmaus, Pennsylvania. "Maguntsche" is a Lenape word, meaning either "bear swamp" or "feeding place of the bears".
Is there a playground/restroom?

There are both, but I'm not sure if the restroom is open due to covid.
I googled "macungie fireworks 2018" and I learned the fireworks will be Saturday July 7 (rain date July 8). After sunset, of course. You should arrive a few hours early for good parking and even earlier to lay your blanket in a good spot.
