I guess I'm in the minority, but not a fan of this dog park. The "regulars" there sit on a bench and smoke cigarettes. They pay zero attention to their dogs. I met a few nice people, but the atmosphere was overall weird and uncomfortable. The walking trail is decent. If you want a nice dog park with very friendly people, check out Greene Valley Dog Park in Naperville. I won't be coming back here.

If you want people not to respect you when you ask for them to please not let your dog chomp on your dogs ears, or mount your dog, then this is the place for you.

I take my dogs here all the time. Have for decades. Super nice people and cute docile dogs.

The park is very nice but my 2 pomeranians got like 20 ticks in under 30 minutes. This is my first time on the park so I dont know if its the season or just very bad luck. Check your dog's fur deeply after a visit. I went to the park on May 10th,2022.

Does the forest preserve try to clear out thisles, burr weeds, etc?

The Forest Preserve's emphasis is on taking out invasive alien species, so thistles and burdocks, which are natives, are only cut back enough to keep the paths clear.
