Beautiful place!!!

This is worth the stop! There is a nice view of the quarry that’s easy to get to.

It's was beautiful and I loved everything about it!

Beautiful swimming hole right downtown. Water is like bath water. Water shoes recommended because lake bed is Rocky. Water is crystal chear and beautiful. They upgraded the parking and there are plenty of bathrooms now. If in Knoxville you need to go.

Now isn't that a silly question? If you mean would it be publicly allowed, of course not. Hanging in the water and losing your shorts well that could happen to any of us.
I don't think you can catch any fish here. I've never seen anyone try and I've been going for years.
From the handicap parking spaces to the spot where you can walk into the water is all semi downhill. Uphill on your way back to your car. If you have a walking disability, it might not be the place for you as there are a lot of holes and divets in the walkway on the way down to the water. But if you are just getting older in age, you should be fine!! I hope this helps.
I think it's open I seen people walking back there
Is the construction done does anyone know?
Yes and it seems that someone has gotten permission to begin renting stuff for water play, I'm concerned about what that will do, what will keep it nice and clean.
Just do not jump off the tallest cliff. My twin sister did and she fractured her left shoulder. And did something to her right elbow.
Very deep water. No lifeguard. But it is safe.
you aren't allowed to anymore. there's signs everywhere and park staff monitoring. guess it's been pretty deadly jumping there. 🤷
Yes
It's a natural body of water that is not temperature regulated.
You walk down to it.
It's only 1/3 mile walk down walk path from the parking lot to the water. Its downhill going in. EASY!
Walk the trial or GPS the entrance
I am not sure. I know they have been renovating the parking area at the lower entrance this past summer. We made the trek from the upper entrance all the way down to the quarry which was a small hike on precarious ground during the off-season of March or April this last year and my husband jumped in the frigid waters. There is certainly no one down there like in summer months and no Parks and Rec folks to monitor the situation. Fyi.
I called them and asked. And they said the swimming part is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. And I’m not sure if that’s completely true. I went their Sunday and it was a blast. I want to go again. But not willing to risk getting kicked out of its closed.
About 20 minutes
Starts off shallow but the ground is very rocky. It goes out deeper and more pleasant afferwards
There isn't anything there to really stop you from swimming at night.
No, its technically considered trespassing if you're there after dusk.
They have City workers there typically under a tent helping people in the parking lot and maintaining an illusion of order. Not sure if it's legal, but they have official entrance guards that tell you to swim safe.
There are usually a couple of port-a-potties available at the entrance, though they are not usually the cleanest and I would, personally, rather use the woods.
I believe they close the gates for cars at dusk, but you can walk down to the quarry part any time
It is indeed open. Parking is a little tricky since they are doing construction. There is a new entrance to the quarry near the railroad tracks on w Blount through the fences
Proboly
The Tennessee River runs right thru Knoxville and becomes Fort Loudon Lake. Many miles of shoreline. Also the Holston River in East Knoxville.
I went at like 9am one time and it was very beautiful and peaceful.
I'm not sure there is an official time.
Once you enter the parking lot, the path continues on the other side of the lot (the lower side). There is usually a canopy set up next to the path entrance with one or two park guys in green shirts. Take the path and veer right when it splits, then you'll be at the quarry.
Now isn't that a silly question? If you mean would it be publicly allowed, of course not. Hanging in the water and losing your shorts well that could happen to any of us.
Theres two places you can park if you pull down close to the quarry you can park there or at the entrance where you first start to go in
Look on your GPS Fort Dickson Quarry
Their website says "3.) Non-motorized water vessels such as kayaks, canoes, etc. are permitted."
