It is indeed open. Parking is a little tricky since they are doing construction. There is a new entrance to the quarry near the railroad tracks on w Blount through the fences
Officially from Memorial Day until Labor Day but if you are willing to walk a 1/2 mile it is open year round.
Not sure they are doing a lot of work
