It is a nice location if you can get on base. Clean and mostly quiet. Pet friendly as long as you have them on a leash

We have emailed and called for 8 days now, one person, Ledda called back after 8 days, no one answers the phone or email. We have been trying to get a space a month out, plenty of time for a reservation. Need the army to take over again I guess. Tom

We found this campground totally by chance. We had some vehicle problems and needed to stay in the area to take care of them. It turned out to be a hidden gem. We loved the experience and would definitely definitely The campground is located on MCChord AFB and you need to have base access in order to stay. It is located in the Midwest of “a forest” of trees. They look like giant redwoods,,although they aren’t. It gives the campground lots of shade, but let’s in plenty of sunlight too. The roads and sites are paved (asphalt) and generally level. Most of the sites have water, electric, and sewer. Our rig is 34’. The initial site where they planned to put us would have been a tight fit. The site where we ended up could easily accommodate a 45 foot rig. Facilities (restrooms and laundry) were immaculate. The BX and Commissary are within walking distance. Nice walking/running trail right outside the campground. The only real downside is that you are located right next to an active runway. It can be a bit noisy, but having lived most of my life on Air Force bases, it didn’t really bother me. We camped here during March and early April). Temperatures were in the mid fifties (for highs). It looks like it could be buggy later in the summer. I’d say the campground was at approximately 60% capacity. Definitely put this one on your list if you’re in the area.

I don't have any idea why folks rates this campground so poorly. We stayed here for five days while our house was on the market. The place is quiet, shaded and all the staff, we interacted with, were excellent. I didn't need them but all the facilities were clean and serviceable. There were mosquitos in the evening, shocking, a rain forest with bugs.

Max stay in winter season is 28 days but if there is a spot available you can move. Summer season Max stay is 14 days during the whole season.
$12 per night
You need to have some military affiliation, as the park is located on base and available to rent to all military ID card holders (active duty, civilian personnel, retired personnel, etc.)
You need to know someone personally with a military id. They (Holiday Park or any MWR facility) does not sponsor, nor help you find a sponsor.
Yes, there is a camp host in the first spot next to the office and they will get you sorted.
Yes, check out Adventures Unlimited for details
Can you have guests with their camper who are non military?
Winter and Summer Season: one reservation can be made per calendar month. Winter Season: October 1st to April 30th. You can stay in one site for 28 days. If you would like to extend please see the office on check out day before 1100 and if a new site is available you may extend in that site for 28 days and repeat the process as long as a new site is available. Summer Season: May 1st to September 30th. It is the same process with a maximum of 14 days per site.
The best way is to call or come in to our office. Our phone number is 253-985-5488. We are open Tues.-Sat. from 0830-1700.
Ive camped in a dry spot/no hookups for 15$ a night. Had a 30ft
Great question! our pricing is as follows, 30 amp is 25$ a night and the 50 amp is 28$ a night. We do offer dry at 15$ a night as well as year around tent camping for 12$ a night.
Hello, Per a night tent camping is $12.00.
Kind of...only in the office or rec center. It is slow and weak, but useable.
The office is closed on Monday so you can call tomorrow.
ONLY above ground in a contained fire pit.
We always have, but then we pick one of our favorite sites when we stay. Plus our rv is quite large so we can only fit in certain sites. On the other hand we have never seen it completely full and there are plenty of boondocking and overflow sites. Sometimes when we call for reservations we have to leave a message and they get back to you fairly quickly .
Yes, there are specific sites that are just for Tent camping and you are more than welcome to bring two pets of your choice.
