Nice camp ground along American Lake for trailers and tents. Cabins are also available with different rooms sizes from studio to I believe 2 bedrooms. Be sure to reserve in advance during summer, it can be as busy as any other popular camp ground. Only downside side for the cabins is the lack of AC units; however, fans are available and builtin space heaters for the cooler seasons.

Military only camping. Spacious sites amongst the trees. Water views obstructed by overgrown vegetation. Have cable, but did not work. Low water pressure.

Stayed here to be close to family in the area. In fact our daughter and family camped in the spot next to us. Beautiful little RV park and tent camping right on American Lake. Very reasonable and quiet. Will definitely stay there again. If you can access the gate and need something in that area give it a shot. Only downside for us is they don’t really do much maintenance on the lots in between visitors but ours was ok. I would’ve given 5 stars except for that.

As far as campgrounds go this is really not bad. The sites are clean and well placed. It's $12 a night for a campsite and sadly there aren't that many tent sites and the restrooms and showers are not open all night. There is a fishing dock right next to the camp grounds which is nice. One thing to be aware of though is that hornets are BAD during the summer. There is a store at the site that offers some basic camping supplies, fishing gear, scuba gear and various other things. This is not a store that I would use to get stuff you need though you would be better off bringing your stuff with you. Over all it's a nice place to take the family for a weekend.

Yes, they can stay. You just have to go to the Merriweather center outside of the gate and present ID and one other form of identification to get their passes. The pass is good for a year.
It's good
Yes. As long as they have a passport
Max stay is 14 days. You can extend for another 14 days if space is available.
You would have to be service, military, or DOD connected.
Call the office (numbers online) or you can walk in to the visitors center area
DOD/NAF civilians can use the campground.
You would need a sponsor unless you have a dependent id
No
Yes, we saw quite a few.
Don't know. Check with them.
Don't think so, best to call them.
No, I don't know the terms. Call them for details.
No wifi available at the campground
No you have to bring your own above ground firepit and it is supposed to have a cover
Can stay up to 14 days at one campsite then have to change to another place but not sure if there is a length limit
14 days at a time and the rate can be as low as 28 a night up to 60. It really depends upon what kind of electric needs you have.
Yes they have both
