Just finished my physical therapy here in Lincoln Park and they really helped with my neck pain. There was never any wait time, and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. I waited years to fix the pain and was hesitant at first but was super happy i finally reached out. I feel like a new person. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Excellent physical therapy! Both Lauren and Mike spend lots of time to make sure they understand the mechanics of the underlying issues to provide the best possible solutions and treatment.

Lauren and Mike were great at In Motion!! Helped me with my lower leg running issues and got me back running for the marathon in three weeks!! Even got a PR! Highly recommend :)

Dr. Lauren seemed to be quite knowledgeable with physical therapy, however, as I spoke with her before, at first I felt her handling was a little rough and she confirmed that she had been told this in the past. Throughout the sessions I sort of felt a little like we were rushed. It seemed like she may have had more on her plate than she should have, like for instance, back to back appointments. She probably should give at least fifteen to thirty minutes between appointments, in order to slow down a bit and in case she finds herself going overtime. But overall, she was pleasant to work with and I would use her services again provided we agree to the concerns I’ve mentioned.

Questions & Answers

Would physical therapy help with an old hip flexor injury?

Hi Trinity, Thanks for reaching out. I would need to get a bit more information about your injury to answer that question. I would be happy to set up a complimentary consultation with you to see if physical therapy at In Motion PT is an appropriate course of action!

Hi, is there parking available at your facility?

Yes, metered street parking ($2/hour) is available in front of the clinic on N. Lincoln Ave and there are also non-permitted side streets within a block from the clinic that allow free parking up until 6 pm.

I've been to PT in the past without improvement..how are you different?

In today’s market, many physical therapy clinics have become overloaded with one therapist treating up to 3-4 patients at a time while utilizing “techs” to assist with patient care. This model does not facilitate optimal results. Here at In Motion Physical Therapy, we prioritize individualized care, progressing you at each visit, as appropriate. You will work with the same skilled physical therapist every visit to ensure continuity of care. In addition, you will be given easy access to your clinician if you have questions during the course of your treatment.

How long do most sessions last?

Trinity P. | Oct 5, 2022

Hello, Our goal is to return you as soon as possible to the activities you love and therefore don’t set time limits on patient appointments. Recovery time for each condition and person is different. However, sessions typically last for a duration of 60-75 minutes.

Hi, what do I need to know for my first appointment?

Evergreen Roots | Oct 3, 2022
Trinity P. | Oct 5, 2022

Hello, it's best to wear loose, comfortable clothing. For shoulder or neck problems, tank tops are preferred and for lower body injuries, shorts and tennis shoes are preferred. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to fill out initial paperwork, if you do not do so prior to the visit. You may download the PDF version of the forms on the website under Patient Forms. Bring your ID, insurance card and MD prescription (if applicable), and a credit card with you.

Hi, how do I know if my insurance will cover my physical therapy?

Trinity P. | Oct 5, 2022

Most insurance plans have some level of physical therapy benefits. We accept most PPO plans and are In-Network with BCBS and Medicare and out of network with United Healthcare, Aetna, and Cigna. We do not accept HMO plans or Medicaid at this time. We will be happy to contact your insurance provider and verify your benefits prior to initiating care with us. We also recommend that you contact your insurance company as well, as there is value in advocating on your own behalf.

Hi, do I need a prescription or a referral from my doctor to be seen?

No, the State of Illinois now offers direct access for physical therapy services, which means that a prescription is no longer needed from your doctor. Please see Direct Access for more details.
