The service is for weekly regular trash pickup (bi weekly for recycles), but is always picked up once every two weeks! The driver always ignore the first week and wait to pick the recycle with the regular trash. I called multiple times to report missed picked up but was told it’s rescheduled but never came! So unprofessional and unreliable. Avoid if possible.

This is such a frustrating utility. They frequently do NOT pick up items on service days, they cancel service last minute, and never provide appropriate concessions to their customers after poor experiences. Most recently, after the holidays, they cancelled service due to the snow and asked customers to wait for pickup until the next scheduled date, which for recycling was one month from the previous pickup day. The following pickup day, their workers participated in a union protest out of state, which means the next pickup will be 6 weeks from the last pickup. This is not only frustrating, but it is becoming a public health issue with waste not having been picked up. Previous to this, they frequently don’t completely empty bins, and they are unfairly selective about what they will take despite following the rules about landscaping, for example. Overall, the experience with Republic is so hit and miss but skews toward bad.

Republic services is unreliable at best and have a terrible reputation in our neighborhood. They have missed pickups many times in the years I've been utilizing their service and when we contact the company their policy (in my opinion) is to tell you they've rescheduled your pickup for the next day just to get you off the phone. Then guess what? Nothing happens. Every day you contact them about a missed pickup its the same story. "Oh it's been rescheduled for tomorrow guaranteed by 6 PM", "we've sent an urgent request for pickup". Never happens. They'll just wait to pick it up on your next cycle. No accountability at this organization. The driver's themselves are kind, cordial and professional, but the customer service at this company is terrible. I've literally called them 4 days in a row about missed compost and recycling pickup and it's the same story "next day pickup, next day pickup"...nothing. I even had one customer service person act like he couldn't hear me anymore like I had a dropped call once I asked for a credit for the missed pickups. My call didn't drop and he was rude and unprofessional. Just wish I'd gotten his name. I'm always calm and kind when I call because I talk to a different person every time and yelling and screaming never gets anyone anywhere, but nothing ever changes. I look like a lazy neighbor just leaving my pickup outside for days! Oh, also, they won't give credits or refunds for missed pickups. Literally weeks of missed pickups and no credits or refunds. So I'm paying you to do a job, you don't do it and when I request a credit for your failures as a sign of good faith and appreciation for my business you say sorry, not sorry? Is that a good business model? If there was another game in town I'd petition to go there. Unfortunately it seems Republic services has a monopoly on the garbage pickup/disposal in our area so they don't have to care. Bottom line: Republic services is a terrible, unreliable business and need to rethink the way they treat their customers.

If you're looking for garbage disposal service, do not settle on this because it is high in the search results. The reviews you see are real. Take the time to explore other companies. The workers who perform the garbage pick up runs do a good job. Those that sit in the office, answer calls, "manage" are problematic. Expect to get payment related issues and if it results in a missed pick up, don't expect them to show any ownership. Expect rude customer service associates who refuse to take a common sense approach to resolving issues.

Ridwell takes old clothes, but they charge a small fee for their service. You can also donate to thrift shops, and they will recycle clothes they can't use.
You can put it in your yardwaste bin or bag it and put it in the garage.
No, you need to go to a county transfer station
You will be picked up on Thursday the 26th. Happy Holidays!
There is the NW transfer Station in 216th east of 66th operated by the county. It is right around the corner from Republic Services.
