Questions & Answers

Do you accept BCBS Advantage HMO insurance?

Doreen Drake | Oct 31, 2021
Texas Diabetes & Endocrinology | Oct 31, 2021

Unfortunately we are not contracted with that plan. We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to get a list of Endocrinologists that would be considered in-network. You would also need a referral from your Primary Care Physician to any specialist so the insurance will cover.

Do any of your physicians accept BCBS Humana? I have been seen by Dr. Shaw in RR for several years and would like to stay with your affiliate after moving and having an insurance change.

Please contact our Billing Department at 512-458-8400, Option 6. We do accept many forms of BCBS and Humana insurances, but would need to verify what your specific plan is. We look forward to hearing from you.

Hello I was at your clinic last September I was under Humana PPO I since changed insurance an now I am under United Health PPO Medicare do you take this insurance if not I need to look for another doctor that will, my next appointment is in Feb?

Debora Anderson | Oct 31, 2021
Laramie Del Valle | Oct 31, 2021

Ms. Anderson, I am in the same boat. As a TRS retiree I had Humana for my insurance for 2 years. My PCP referred me to the Diabetes Center to continue more specialized care for my diabetes. TRS switched to United for 2021. I told the front desk and, after 2 visits in December, they told me I had to pay up front for the 2021 appt. because they DON'T take United. I checked with United and they told me they were considered in-network and would only have to pay the copay. The office insisted they DON'T BILL UH. I am looking for another doctor. Good luck! 👍
