I will preface this by saying you must get an appointment before going to the DMV due to covid. I had to wait a little over a month to get in. With that said I had a very pleasant appointment. Mr. Fender was very timely and kind. Thank you sir.

Move from New York state not too long ago. After making an appointment online I was able to get my license transferred over very quick.

The DMV examiner for my kid’s road test traumatized her. I do not recommend the Burnsville DMV. The examiner intentionally set my daughter up to fail. He told her to back out of the parking spot and “begin when you’re ready” and he had a police officer in an unmarked car pull quickly into her blind spot right after she checked it amd began backing up. She did not hit the car, the examiner told her to stop and pull back in and he said “you just failed your test”. My daughter was stunned and didn’t understand they had just set her up. My daughter and the examiner got out of the car and they looked at me and shook their heads no. I guess i had looked away for the split second because I didn’t see it. I said ”what happened”? The examiner said “she didn’t stop for the car that was behind her”. They intentionally sabotaged her the second I briefly looked away. The car that sped into her blind spot had been parked and was an unmarked blue dodge sporty police car that seemed unoccupied because of the dark tinted windows. Immediately after walking away from us the examiner walked up to the police officer a few feet away and gave him a celebratory fist bump. Then the police officer who had quickly pulled into my daughter’s blind spot said “HA HA!!” (Like the Simpson’s character) really loud for all to hear. My kid has been crying for 3 hours and having anxiety attacks. We had waited a month for that appointment and drove an hour to get there. She stayed up studying last night and had practiced and felt ready. They set her up to fail and then loudly and publicly celebrated and mocked her when she did. This was a missed opportunity to actually teach my child about road safety and instead they traumatized her. Two adult males in positions of authority had a great time bullying my teenager. Shame on them! A good teacher doesn’t cause and then celebrate their student’s failure. Disgusting behavior by our public servants.

Unwilling to understand that secondary drivers do not get insurance cards with their name on it. Drove just under an hour to be turned away and offers no assistance. Make your appointment somewhere else don’t waste your time like I did.
