This is where the lighthouse is and there is a beautiful beach and it's great for bird watching and you'll see a bunker on the beach.

Baby Purple Martins. CAPE MAY, N.J. ... West Cape May resident Dave Thomas is the primary caretaker for the colony of more than 50 nesting pairs of Purple Martins that use two large white nesting boxes at the state park.
Not sure but it's a good probability that you will . I don't live in New Jersey sorry I can't answer more definitively, good luck .
You need to contact Cape May Point State park to get a permission email from them to reserve your time and a pavilion. They have a website. You may have to email a couple times if they don't answer right away.
The lighthouse is open on weekends but you would need to go to the Cape May Mac website for actual hours
You can park at the monument lot and hike up or park 2 minute from the monument.

They have a large parking lot where I have seen campers pull in and park, not for overnight stay.
During fall bird migration, Cape May becomes the tip of the funnel, with large concentrations of song bird species filling up on food before crossing the bay waters. It also provides a haven for southern Woody plants in NJ, as all winter it is kept warm by breezes off the salt water to East and to West
There are many hotels in cape may city just few minutes away from there.
Sunset Beach is near by, no cost. Lighthouse does have an entrance "donation" however, the grounds do not.
I saw someone doing it. Dont recall any signs saying you can't. I'd say go for it and beg for forgiveness later. But i doubt it's a problem.
15 miles or so
Eat, drink and be merry! Take pictures, read, relax, walk on the beach. Breathe the sea air. Create your own car tour of all the lovely homes.
Many , With Various Costs and Benefits. Depending on your Budget Beachcomber Is costly but offers a lot amenities, or you can go cheaper stay at some of the state parks within miles of any beach town from Ocean City, NJ which is a dry town if you're not looking for the hassle of that atmosphere more family friendly. Cape May Offers A lot of historic Value along with Antique Shops So it all depends on what yourself is looking to do when at the shore... Bellaplain is miles from wildwood ,cape may ocean city just 20 min drive to most this is a state ran campground so less amenities but better for the budget after all we dont go to the shore to hang in the campgrounds. Cape May Park Zoo just opened adventure park and zip lines to their attraction. Zoo is free. So you have a lot of choices but it all depends on what you're looking for and what you want to do with your vacation.
