If you can, avoid working in the kitchen. Otherwise it’s a nice place…

My mother has lived at Stonecrest for over ten years. She initially moved there along with my father who was suffering from dementia. It was a difficult time for our family, of course, but he was so lovingly taken care of by the memory care staff of, “The Arbor”, that to this day we all still marvel at how much we were helped by everyone at Stonecrest, from the entire staff to residents who went out of their way to make my parents and my brothers and I, who were helping them, feel welcome during that transition. To be near my father at that time, my mother moved into a beautiful independent living apartment in, “The Terrace” and was able to be with him just by taking a walk down a few hallways. While it took time to adjust to apartment living after living in their home together for so many years, they gradually started to acclimate and made many dear, new friends. They soon discovered what a lively community Stonecrest was! Renae Vaughn, the extremely gifted and creative, “Recreation Director” is just phenomenal. She takes genuine interest in each and every resident and finds out what they are interested in and where their talents and passions lie and then tailors events and programs and creates a variety of both fun and educational activities, where people can participate in as little or as much as they would ever want. I am constantly blown away by the things she comes up with, even during this epidemic, when they have had to impose social distancing restrictions. This gift she has, and her ability to light up a room with her positive energy is so engaging, which truly makes people want to participate. She is an incredible treasure and asset to Stonecrest. A few years ago my mother suffered a terrible fall and moved to, “The Commons” in the assisted living wing of the complex, which has more help in place with nursing and other helpful services as needed. (She is doing quite well now, and is still sharp as ever at 86:) With each of these moves, even if they were in the same building complex, there were things to work out, and Housing Counselor, Marianne Niemi, has always been right there for us, making sure each move was as easy as possible. She has truly become a friend. I just can’t say enough about all the people we have met at Stonecrest over the years. So many of my mom’s dear friends have also become my dear friends. And when I start to even think about the staff, I begin to tear up. There’s Leslie, who now works at the front desk of the Commons, who is so gentle and kind and who,I will never forget, prayed right along side us as my father passed. And then, of course, there are the Housekeeping Goddesses, “Kim of The Commons” and “Cindy of The Terrace” who are WAY more than just excellent cleaning ladies:) They perform a very important job, which is also a very physically demanding job, yet, they both have been a constant thread of sincere caring and have always taken a moment to listen and best of all, they both possess wonderful senses of humor! We have laughed together so many times, which in doing, also cleanses our souls:) Then there are the caring, hardworking, nurses and other health care workers, the amazing Chef and kitchen staff and the very important hairstylist(s) and maintenance workers, drivers and pastors! How can we ever begin to express the gratitude we feel for all their hard work, especially now, as they continue to doeverything humanly possible to minimize risks that could contribute to the spread of Covid 19. It boggles the mind to imagine just how difficult it all must be to coordinate! Janel Miller, Stonecrest’s Campus Administrator, has kept us very informed and up to date with the safety guidelines and protocols put out by the CDC as new information continues to develop. It certainly feels like there may be light at the tunnel now! God Bless Stonecrest, it’s staff, residents and all of their families!f

Excellent facility that I would highly recommend. My father in law had been living here for several years after coming from another facility in the area that was not as desirable. His health and overall personality dramatically improved once he moved into Stonecrest. The entire family loved having him there. The staff is exceptional, the food is delicious, and the place is so clean. My brother in law is only 64 and he's ready to move in! A wonderful facility for any senior, definitely check it out.

Fantastic senior center with compassionate care givers. Can't say enough about how pleased we are. Both my mother and my wife's parents are residents and I would highly recommend Stonecrest to anyone looking and needing senior living and assisted care. Food is exceptional and all staff do such a great job. We are very grateful for their Christian focus/message and all our parents feel safe and secure. God has put them in a great place.
