The Florence Presbyterian Community has been “home” for my dad for 4 years. He was recently hospitalized and was in need of rehab to regain his strength. What a blessing it was to be able to bring him back to the Florence Presbyterian Community for rehab. He was excited to return to the community where he would be among people he knew and be called by his name. Dad worked hard with Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy and during his rest time, his favorite activity was singing hymns led by the new music therapist. Within twelve days, he was moved to his original room. It was such a wonderful homecoming! The staff and residents warmly welcomed him back. I visit Dad often and my heart is warmed by stories the staff share with me about him which is evidence that they know the residents and truly care about them. I often check the Facebook account for the Florence Presbyterian Community to see the activities of the residents as well as pictures. I am so thankful for the Florence Presbyterian Community partnering with our family to give our dad the very best of care.

Zero stars. The place needs to be shut down. My dad was there less than 2 weeks before needing to be transferred to the ER by ambulance with a uti and ammonia level of 216 but "supposedly" getting the correct doses of lactulose 3 times a day. My dad became almost unresponsive but nursing supervisor Tonya and Director of nursing Sheila felt he was alert an oriented but just a "little tired." He was near death. We Had to insist they check a urinalysis and ammonia level due to the worsening confusion. They are lazy. He got no nursing care and nurse techs on cell phones hanging out ignoring call lights. They wouldn't even fill my dad's water cup daily- we had to. My dad's room was dirty the whole time and no one cared. Food trays left from day before. Sheets dirty. Dangerous place and none of my loved ones will ever go back to this place.

My mother made exponential gains from an injury that required a 23 day stay. So many thanks for all the eyes on her, the care and support we all received and the good practices she learned to keep her healthy and independent.
