This review was supposed to be a positive one. I called ahead and asked if they had a specific handgun model in stock. I was told they only had one. I asked if they could set it aside so I could make it there from about 45min away. I was told sure, no problem. When I got there they had it set aside. I asked them if they price match nearby gun stores. I was told yes and they matched the other shops price. Here is where it gets shady. They told me they would go and get one from the “back”. I told the sales rep that I was told this was the only one. He stumbled for a min and said, “the only one on display”. That is not what I was told, I double checked. But thought whatever, maybe just a drop in communication. He was gone for some time and when he came back he just started ringing it up. I had to ask if I could see the gun I was actually buying. I did a quick look over and noticed nothing. Unfortunately after I got it home and field stripped it I noticed the guide rod/spring was bent. I had to call S&W to get a replacement. Good thing SW warranty is great. I then tried to shoot it and it would not feed because the striker was sticking out. After inspecting the spent casings the striker was dragging over the end of the case and primer. This could have gone very bad. I took the slide apart to try to determine what was going on and found the gun was missing the striker spring guide/sleeve. So the striker was not aligned correct and jamming up. The striker tip is now ruined as well. This could have caused a very catastrophic failure. I am in the process of obtaining new striker assembly and guide/sleeve. This was supposed to be a brand new gun that they only had “one” in stock. When I asked for a price match I got the Ol’ bait and switch. They did remember to remind me that all sales are final so I did not try to return their “back office POS” I will never purchase another gun from this store and I await a response for a resolution.

Took a few classes here. CCW and tactical rifle. The shooting range, and store are amazing. The staff is friendly and super knowledgeable. I highly recommend!

Terrible experience. Would never go back and will never recommend it. First off its expensive, next its invasive as they require a background check just to shoot. Lastly being babysat the entire time shooting with someone practically hovering over your shoulder every 2 seconds. Go shoot somewhere else and you'll enjoy it much more.

VERY nice facility. A few nitpicky range rules that I've never come across and they're sticklers, but whatever. They're facility, their rules. That's fine. However, I've been to MANY ranges, been shooting over 30 years, and I've never had such a feeling of a range officer breathing down your neck and watching over your shoulder. Not all of the RSOs there are this way, but quite a few are. Unless they're breaking one of your rules or needing assistance, back up, back off, and let people shoot. Remember that not everyone there is there to work on the same thing or for the same purpose and reason each time.

Hi Oli! Here is our foreign national policy. Take a look! Use the handy flow chart to discern whether you and your friends are allowed to shoot (and rent!) https://dta0yqvfnusiq.cloudfront.net/libertyrange/2022/04/LFI-FOREIGN-NATIONAL-POLICIES-625754d4c1fd9.pdf
You sure can! We are rated up to .50 cal!
Yes. Here is the link to our rental options and pricing. https://www.libertyrange.com/rentals/
We do if you go through the holster qualification process. We suggest Great Guns in Ault for an outdoor shooting experience.
Yes sir, we do not have magazine size restrictions on the range.
Absolutely! The RSO should be able to assist you. If not, the gunsmith should be able to assist as well, however there will be a charge for gunsmith service if you didn’t buy the firearm or red dot from us.
Absolutely! Ask the Range Safety Officer for assistance once you get on a lane!
Yes, after background check and paying.
Valid. I.d , close toe shoes and a be able to pass a quick background check that cost a few bucks. Only paperwork other than I.d needed is if you have NFA items like full auto, Short barrel, silencer.
Below is the ATF website link with information for purchasing a firearm out of state https://www.atf.gov/firearms/qa/may-licensee-sell-firearm-nonlicensee-who-resident-another-state
Yes sir, crossbows and compound bows are welcome on the archery range. Up to 45 yards for $5/hour and a flat $5 fee for 3D targets and a dedicated block target for broad heads. If you have more questions call 970-578-0717 and ask for our bow tech Dana!
Yes, with just a little extra paperwork at check-in!
Sure do! It’s a $10 rental fee and it includes a recurve bow, 3 arrows, an arm guard, a quiver, and a paper target.
Hi Bill! Lane reservations are a member perk, depending on when you come in to shoot though you shouldn’t have trouble walking onto a lane. Thanks!
Yep they do. You can get them here https://app.yiftee.com/gifts/egift_and_gift_cards/liberty-firearms-institute-johnstown
Yes. Don't worry. The law is only for buying new magazines. You are good
They have 25, 50, and 100 yard ranges.
Not at present but if you apply or drop a resume for the desired position they will keep it on file if you seem to be a good fit.
The stuff they sell there!
Hi Dennis, Colorado state law requires a Colorado ID to purchase a firearm and take it home with you. Even with your Wyoming CCW permit, we still have to ship the firearm to a Wyoming FFL address and have them conduct their own in-state background check. This law only applies to handguns. Thanks!
You can get your permit there but don't know how much and how long the class is.
Hi Colorado Man, Yes we allow 20 gauge with the use of slugs only. Thanks!
Hi Joeli, yes we currently have the firearm you are interested in for $809.99! Thanks!
