If you hire a reputable company rekeying your locks would be much cheaper (15 dollars max); however, there are many scammer locksmith companies that will charge ridiculous prices for a lock rekey because they want you to buy their junk instead. You should not pay anything above $15 for a house lock rekey.

Usually they adjust the tumbler in the lock to fit the new key which they give you. That's what they did with mine.
