Nob Hill has provided one of the best apartment living experiences I’ve had. The on-site property management is convenient, and Alice & Michelle in the office are fantastic. The building is from the 1970s but seems to have been well maintained over the years. The apartments themselves are basic, but have been updated with newer appliances, fixtures, carpet and cabinetry. I can’t speak to all of the floor plans, but my “A” floor plan one bedroom unit has a kitchen that’s the size of one you’d find in a townhouse, with plenty of cabinet space and storage. There’s plenty of storage: A double closet in the entryway, linen closet outside the bathroom, and a large walk-in closet for the bedroom. The windows are newer and double-pane, so there are no drafts in the winter. The electric baseboard heaters do a fine job of keeping the apartment warm, and their use is included in the rent. Air conditioning during the summer is handled by a window unit built into the wall, but it’s well-sized and keeps the apartment plenty cool. Water, sewer and trash are included as well. The pool, community room, patio area and common sitting area are all very nice and well-maintained. The gym is nice enough and also free to use. There is an intercom system that can be used to open the building door remotely for guests. There’s plenty of parking in the lots surrounding the building, though it would be nice if they’d add some covered parking or a parking garage. The location is great - very convenient to all the necessities as well as major interstates. The rent is reasonable. The soundproofing in the walls is great, but the floor and ceiling not so much. I have an upstairs neighbor who walks on his heels and I can hear every step, loudly. It’s not a dealbreaker for me, but if you’re sensitive to such things, it might be worth trying for a top floor apartment. The online portal for paying rent is easy to use. I’ve had two maintenance requests, and both were attended to quickly. One that’s worth a mention: My linen closet smelled of cat urine when I moved in. I mentioned this to Alice, and in a couple of days, they’d replaced the carpet in the closet. I’ve never had an apartment complex do such a major fix, and I really appreciated that. I’ve seen a lot of complaints in the reviews about bugs. I’ve not had those issues at all. I’m not saying those reviews aren’t true, but at least in my 4th floor apartment, that’s not even my experience. I am in the midst of buying a house, so I won’t be staying here much longer, but I like Nob Hill enough that I wanted to leave a review. If you’re in need of a quiet, safe, and reasonably-priced place to live with a landlord that cares about its tenants and building, give Nob Hill a shot.
