The return of the vehicle on Thompson Street, which was coordinated in advance by telephone at the rental station in JFK - Airport, ended with a return surcharge of an additional $250, which was then demanded there, and after my clear protest of suddenly "only" $175. Both an impertinence and, in my opinion, a pure tourist rip-off, since the JFK Office did not mention or display this surcharge with just one syllable when first asked. I then drove angrily to the airport to return it. My conclusion => that can only be described as underground.
