We weren't able to climb the light as the keeper was away for the weekend. The grounds are well kept and the information blotters helped significantly.

Great end of summer get away. Peaceful and invigorating scenery. Closed for the day but we will visit again to take the tour inside.

I happened to stop by on a school tour day, so I did tour it but it is not open, generally, to the public. They do scheduled groups from what the lady told me last year.

I was interested in getting married at the Lighthouse on Father's Day. Was wondering if I could speak to someone about this? Or if this was even allowed to happen? Who can I talk to about this happening? Thanks, Mark Troup & Tami Eggerton..

While I've only visited the area and the lighthouse, I it seems to be a public park. You might want to try contacting the local historical society or parks department and ask them. I would think you don't need any special permission but letting them know mint be helpful in case they know of anything else going on and they might have someone clean the area beforehand. If you are looking for honeymoon ideas,or a weekend getaway, try a driving trip to see the lighthouses along the S s away Trail. I made a photo show about them in 2008 under my other profile "Nightstyles" in Google+ and Google photos. It is called "Lighthouses Along the Seaway Trail" West" Presque Isle to Rochester NY and Sodus Bay. I had a chance to go east to Ogdensburg NY and end up in the Thousand Islands resort area.
